In the Lord of the Rings films, Éowyn is a Shieldmaiden of Rohan and King Theoden's niece. She develops a close relationship with Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen). Despite her desire to fight for her people, Éowyn is forbidden from serving in the Rohan army. Despite this barrier, Éowyn disguises herself and marches into battle alongside hobbit Merry Brandybuck and her fellow countrymen in Return of the King. She even slays the dreaded Witch-king of Angmar, Lord of the Nazgûl, during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Deadline broke the news of Otto's return for The War of the Rohirrim, in which she will serve as the narrator.
