Minecraft was released over 10 years ago, and some players have been discussing what kind of boss they would like to see added to the game in the future. In Minecraft, a significant variety of mobs are available, each with a characteristic appearance and behavior. When it comes to a boss, however, Mojang's game hasn't seen anything new in quite some time.

Minecraft will add a camel in update 1.20, expanding the list of neutral and passive mobs. In this category of mob belong creatures like the classic pig, the lovable ocelot, and the unusual Strider. When talking about hostile mobs, Minecraft also has a selection of creatures that include the classic zombie and creeper, and others that came later, including the Evoker and Warden. Some mobs have also been removed from Minecraft, making this one of the most diverse aspects of the game.

User donqon asked on the Minecraft subreddit what kind of boss players would like to see added to the game. Donqon points out that the game hasn't had a new mob of this type in over 10 years. In 2011 the Ender Dragon was added, and it turned into one of the mobs that changed Minecraft forever. The following year came the Wither, the skeletal-looking demonic boss. With thousands of comments on the post, some are noteworthy. One user suggested a boss coming from the portal in the Deep Dark, and another a giant snake that walks through the lava of the Nether. A third comment imagined what it would be like for Minecraft to add the Kraken, the iconic mythological figure that terrorizes the seas.

Although Mojang hasn't added a new boss or even a hostile mob to Minecraft in quite some time, this aspect of the game is covered by gamers. There are mods that add bosses to Minecraft, or even variants such as mutations and corrupted versions. These and many other ideas created by the community show the potential of something that could be officially added to the game in the future.

Minecraft would have much to gain with a new boss, as it would bring more diversity to the game. The Minecraft community is very creative, and consistently uses features such as mods to add new things that are not yet in the game. Despite this, there is always a great expectation from the players for the new features announced by Mojang. Although a new boss in Minecraft has not been announced, the idea cannot be dismissed by players either. Minecraft added many mobs over the years, which keeps the door open for the debut of a new boss.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and legacy platforms.
