A clever Minecraft player has created Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed helmets. With over 10 years of existence, Minecraft has received different features such as new mobs, blocks, and recipes. One of the newest features, however, is getting the community particularly excited.

Minecraft will add armor customization with a new feature called armor trim, which is currently only available through snapshot 23w04a. Players can find templates in different structures such as dungeons, and if they wish, duplicate them using seven diamonds and the item based on the template (example: cobblestone). By using one of these templates in a smithing table, the player can decorate their armor with items such as gold, diamond, and netherite, one of the blocks added to Minecraft in 2020. The armor trims have only aesthetic value and give no gameplay advantage.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are among the best teams in cartoon history, with a huge franchise that also involves movies, games, comics, and more. User J_WingBlade has posted on Reddit an image showing their set of Turtles-themed helmets using armor trims. The four helmets are displayed on armor stands, and all are painted green. A center line circles each helmet, with the ocean blue line representing Leonardo's mask, the red one Raphael's, the purple one Donatello's, while the orange line represents the humorous Michelangelo.

J_WingBlade's idea became a hit on the official Minecraft subreddit with over 12,000 upvotes. Several comments praised the player's idea and shared their opinions about the new feature. While Minecraft Legends got a release date, Minecraft players will have to wait, as the 1.20 update does not yet have an exact release date besides "2023." Despite this, armor trims are already making a splash even though they are only available via snapshot. Other users have shared equally creative ideas on Reddit, such as armor sets of Hatsune Miku, Terraria, a samurai, and an armor set in the colors of the Brazilian flag.

The armor trims are a great example of why Minecraft has grown to become one of the most successful indie games. Mojang constantly adds content to the game, making the experience more fun by also adding countless gameplay possibilities. It's the kind of thing that enhances the player experience, and the player will feel more inclined to spend more time in the game, with the potential to expand the target audience by inviting others to play.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and legacy platforms.
