A Minecraft fan has created an incredible replica of Super Mario Kart's Bowser's Castle course. Many unique Minecraft creations in Survival and Creative modes have been shared over the years, and this player uses the building blocks to replicate Mario Kart tracks, including Bowser's Castle.

Minecraft was released with many materials that players could use to build things both imaginary and inspired by real life. As the game has evolved, new materials, mobs, and uses of existing blocks have been added. As part of the Minecraft 1.21 update, Copper received a significant upgrade, allowing for more items to be created with it. Scenes from 8 and 16-bit games have been accurately reimagined in Minecraft thanks to its blocky nature. One player has decided to extend this to Super Mario Kart from the Super Nintendo catalog, making courses like Bowser's Castle with the materials available in the game.

Minecraft Player Builds Impressive Spooky City

One imaginative Minecraft player takes advantage of the game’s building mechanisms to create an impressive spooky city with intricate details.

Reddit user Alphaita recently shared seven images of their Minecraft replica of Super Mario Kart's Bowser's Castle alongside a drawing of the layout. The gamer also included a top-down view of the Bowser's Castle course from the Super Nintendo title for comparison. The screenshots focus on key course locations like the starting line, a lane of fire-breathing statues, a staircase with rows of progressively taller pillars, a road guarded by two Thwomps, and large platforms separated by gaps that lead to lava. Similar to Super Mario Kart, the lava in Minecraft can be equally deadly, making some jumps more treacherous than others. There are also Warp Pipes that would look familiar to the Super Mario Mashup Pack that was released for select Minecraft Nintendo ports.

How Was This Mario Kart Map Made in Minecraft?

Just like its Super Mario Kart counterpart, the Minecraft Bowser's Castle is surrounded by lava that flows from specific parts of the racecourse. Key materials included things like Stone and Deepslate Bricks, Stone, Concrete and Wool of varying colors, Jungle Wood, Birch Signs, Stone Stairs, and Trial Spawners. Flags are used to represent the eyes of the Thwomps that litter the map, while yellow and red Wool indicate potential hazards. The Jungle Wood reflects off-course areas that normally slow down Mario Kart racers. The inclusion of Alphaita's drawing of Bowser's Castle shows that the player likely made the course layout before putting it together with Minecraft blocks. Beyond Bowser's Castle, this gamer has also recreated Luigi's Circuit, Sky Garden, and Bowser's Castle 2.

Because Alphaita has shared a download link for their world, Super Mario Kart fans can explore their racecourse and observe how it was made. As Mojang continues to update Minecraft, more materials may be added to make replicating these Mario Kart courses accurately even easier.
