YouTuber Markiplier is something of a celebratory in the world of video game Let's Play videos. Having started his channel back in 2012, it has grown over the course of nearly ten years to more than twenty-eight million subscribers, making him one of the most influential gamers in the world. One of his most popular series of videos shows him playing one of the most influential games of all time: Minecraft.

Those who are familiar with this series may be wondering what seed map he uses when he plays and records. A recent video uploaded to YouTube shows what it believes to be the exact seeds Markiplier uses in Minecraft. The video opens by saying that Markiplier, who's real name is Mark Fischbach, uses two seeds, one in version 1.15 and the other in version 1.16 both of which the video claims to have found. The co-ordinates for both are shown below:

Version 1.15.2

Seed: -8218651088314900656

Coordinates: -29 62 -42

Version 1.16

Seed: -7921338487587620021

Coordinates: -540 67 215

The first seed was located using part three of his series which was uploaded last June and features a very deep hole in the ground. The second seed was lifted from part eight of the series uploaded shortly after part three and shows a lush lake in one of Minecraft's dense forest biomes. The second seed is even more convincing as it appears to even show the fire-damaged spawn point that Markiplier returns to in the video.

Clues were picked up in Mark's videos in which he pans the landscape and comments on what he sees, such as the mountains in the distance or the aforementioned hole in the ground. It seems that finding seeds is something Minecraft fans are keen on doing, such as when players found the world seed which was used for the infamous Herobrine creepypasta. Seeds are codes that players can enter when they create a new save. These determine how the world is generated and affects things like dungeons, landscapes, and the location of villages.

Minecraft is just one of those games that has become a massive phenomenon over the years and, as of May 2020, has sold more than 200 million copies worldwide. It's hardly surprising that YouTube personalities such as Markiplier have been flying the flag of Minecraft for so long. Its success is a testament to just how much content is in the game as well as how unique each playthrough can be, but it's also something of an anomaly, one that gamers may never see in their lifetime again.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
