Reddit user connyduck shared images of both their Minecraft world's base and the oil painting they based off of it. The base itself is incredibly impressive, with a large fortress making up the majority of it. The many spires and towers of the base give it an almost intimidating experience, and the intricate work must have taken quite some time to build. In the oil painted version, the world takes on a slightly less blocky quality while otherwise maintaining the look and feel of the screenshot. Clever touches include a rendering of the horse seen in the screenshot, which is now a unicorn, and a Creeper peeking in from beneath a tree.
Numerous fans were impressed with the oil painting, with some expressing envy of the artist's skill, while others seemed to be taking inspiration from it. According to connyduck, the art took them ten days to create with a few hours dedicated to the project each time.
