Minecraft will be bringing back the Minecraft Live event on Sunday, October 15, giving fans of the blocky survival game plenty of reason to be excited. Previously known as Minecon, Minecraft Live is a big event that has been held almost annually since Minecraft first exploded in popularity in 2010. Sometimes held as giant in-person conventions and other times taking the form of livestreamed events, Minecon/Minecraft Live has always been a cause of celebration for fans of the game.

Hardcore Minecraft fans will definitely want to tune in to Minecraft Live, as that's where they'll learn all about Mojang's future plans for the game. Minecraft players will also get to vote for a new mob that the developers will work on adding to the game in a future update. Anyone that regularly plays Minecraft and is excited about the game's future should be sure to mark October 15 on their calendars so they can see all the big announcements Mojang has in store.

Minecraft Live 2023 takes place on Sunday, October 15 at 1pm EDT. Those interested in participating in this year's mob vote will have about two days to do so. Voting opens at 1pm EDT on Friday, October 13 and ends at 1:15pm EDT on Sunday, October 15. Voting will take place within Minecraft: Bedrock Edition itself, the game's website, and the game's launcher. Minecraft fans will have three mobs to choose from, though Mojang isn't revealing the mobs until voting starts. The mob vote winner will be revealed by the time the hour-long Minecraft Live presentation comes to a close.

One Minecraft game that most likely won't be featured at Minecraft Live this year is Minecraft Dungeons. Minecraft Dungeons is an action-RPG twist on the Minecraft franchise that was first released in 2020. Multiple updates have been released for Minecraft Dungeons post-launch, but it was recently announced that Mojang was no longer going to making anything new for the game. While it may still make some kind of appearance, Minecraft fans shouldn't hold their breath for any big revelations about Minecraft Dungeons at this year's Minecraft Live event.
