A Minecraft player tried to get rid of a Creeper, but the attempt backfired and destroyed one of their buildings. Minecraft is a colorful and adventurous game, and far from being remembered as a horror game. Despite this, Minecraft players have many scares and unexpected situations to share.

One frequent reason for Minecraft players' scares is encounters with hostile mobs. Unlike peaceful mobs, such as pigs and chickens, Minecraft's hostile mobs are dangerous and attack any player within their detection range. While there are hostile mobs in Minecraft feared for their power and appearance, such as the Ender Dragon, the Ravager, and the Shulker, one of the most infamous enemies is the Creeper. Considered by many to be Minecraft's mascot, the Creeper often stars in funny and unlikely moments, like the one shared by a player who wasn't so lucky.

Reddit user Double_Ad_8911 shared a clip showing their building exploding after a Creeper exploded, activated a TNT, and made it bounce toward the building. The video shows the player tinkering with a redstone circuit, constrcuted with a Minecraft ore used to make impressive things. They then identify a Creeper in a hole and start to move away to lure it away from the location. They place a TNT with a lever to activate it and blow up the Creeper, but the attempt backfires in the most hilarious way possible.

Double_Ad_8911's unlucky moment generated funny reactions from other players. One commenter said they found it unusual how the player chose to fight the Creeper. They said they were tired of the Creepers making holes in their construction site. They then tried to give the Creeper "a taste of its own medicine," and joined the list of players who have caused tragedies in Minecraft. Another player shared their anti-Creeper idea, which is a bedrock-deep hole into which they lure the mob surrounded by water. Once the Creeper falls, they remove the water and place a TNT that falls on the mob. If the Creeper doesn't die by the fall, it will die by the explosion.

Although many mobs have been added and removed from Minecraft, the Creeper remains an equally hated and beloved character. With Minecraft Live 2023 announced and the return of mob vote, players have the chance to elect a new mob to be added to the game. Last year's mob vote winner was Sniffer, a peaceful mob. This year's mobs have not yet been revealed, so Minecraft players await curiously to see if this time a hostile mob will be among the contenders.

Minecraft is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and legacy platforms.
