At this point, a greater challenge would be to find someone who hasn't played Minecraft, or is at least aware of its presence. For many, Minecraft is a fantastic video game for relieving boredom, with near-endless creative potential. Despite its age, it's still selling in droves as millions of people utilize all the tools it has to offer to come up with some pretty interesting builds. Sometimes the community will inadvertently create a similar thing, but in different ways to each other.

Take some of these users over on Reddit as an example. There have been a few examples of people creating their own Nether portal in Minecraft, which is something that most players will eventually create at some point. However, these have some pretty interesting designs. User surgeric has turned their portal into a Chinese paifang archway, while Odd-Bodybuilder1524 has created a "deep dark" portal which they say they've covered with reinforced deep slate. Perhaps one of the most interesting examples is from RngNick, who has surrounded their Nether portal with a demonic-looking structure, complete with floating pentagrams.

The Nether in Minecraft is a dangerous place that many have to venture through, especially if they are hoping to explore more than just the Overworld or obtain blaze rods. The first time entering can be quite intimidating, especially with the likes of the Ghasts floating about the place. In order to get to this realm, players must construct a portal, and while there's no need to create something elaborate, evidently some fans like to dress theirs up to be something more than the usual rectangular purple doorway.

This is just a couple of examples out of countless others that showcase the time, skill, and dedication that goes into some constructions. Builders around the world are capable of making some truly stupendous structures, such as the Minecraft fan who recently created an incredible Gothic castle, which looked like it had been lifted from the likes of Bloodborne. It's precisely for these reasons that the game is still going strong after well over a decade.

But it's also a game about enjoying the little things in life, such as the opportunity to explore a vast landscape or listen to the soothing soundtrack. Of course, there are dangerous elements, not just in the Nether, either, but Minecraft is generally known for its tranquil nature. It transcends age groups, making it accessible to just about anyone who wants to try it out, and it will be quite the dark day when people decide to finally stop playing.

Minecraft is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
