Minecraft allows gamers to express their creativity, and there are constant updates to expand the world and give players more ways to test their imaginations. Update 1.20, called Trials and Tales, will introduce many new features, including new Mobs and building materials. The update will also be adding archeology, allowing players to dig and uncover the history of Minecraft's world. This may answer many questions players have had about the game's lore, including the history of some of the Mobs, including the Endermen.

The Endermen are one of the most interesting Minecraft Mobs that players encounter. They look like they are from another dimension, and while they mostly ignore the player, they have odd reactions to water and sunlight. With a little archeology, players may discover more about the history and origins of these strange Mobs.

Gamers can expect Update 1.20 to arrive around June 2023, and it will bring many additions to the game. Perhaps most excitingly, the update will add the winner of 2022's Mob Vote to the game. Last year, the adorable Sniffer won, which is a Mob capable of sniffing out seeds. The Sniffer won't be the only new Mob, as camels will also be added with the upcoming update. Other additions include chiseled bookshelves, the cherry blossom biome, and armor customization.

The upcoming archeology features will also be sure to attract a lot of gamers. With the update, players will be able to spot strange sand blocks in the overworld. If these blocks are dusted, they will reveal pottery shards that can be combined to create pots with artwork depicting aspects of Minecraft's world. The brushing will be done with a new brushing tool that will come with the update. This will be an interesting avenue for developers to share some of Minecraft's rich lore.

Archeology and the Endermen in Minecraft

A group of Endermen in The End

The Endermen are one of the strangest Mobs in Minecraft. They love dark areas, and players rarely find them in the overworld. Instead, they are more frequently encountered in the Nether and the End dimension. They really don't like being looked at, and they will teleport if they are exposed to water or sunlight. The weird Mob has spawned many fan theories regarding its origins, history, and the overarching intentions of the species, with some theories claiming that the Endermen are an ancient race responsible for building many of the mysterious structures found throughout the overworld.

With the archeology features coming to Minecraft, a lot of the mysteries regarding the Endermen could be answered. Artworks on the pots could depict aspects of the Endermen's story, revealing where they came from and where they acquired their abilities. However, there is also every possibility that the ancient pots could leave players with more questions as more mysteries are introduced. Currently, four artworks have been revealed, and they depict a humanoid, an arrow, a skeleton head, and a jewel. Already, it is quite difficult to crack the cryptic clues, and things are likely to only get more confusing.

The Minecraft Trials and Tales update is certainly one to look forward to, as it will bring many changes to the game. In addition to telling interesting stories, the ancient pots can also serve as great decorative pieces in a home. According to Mojang, more will be added in the future, and this should give developers the chance to delve deeper into the game's deep lore. Hopefully, the Endermen are one of the topics the ancient pots touch on.
