Stranger Things is approaching its conclusion and star Millie Bobby Brown, who plays fan-favorite Eleven, revealed what viewers can expect from the upcoming fourth season of the Netflix hit series. According to Brown, fans can anticipate lots of action as well as some well-needed answers to some of the show's biggest ongoing mysteries.

Stranger Things season 4 has been a long time coming, as it began development in 2019, shortly after the release of season 3, and started production in early 2020. Unfortunately, filming came to a halt in March 2020 due to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic before resuming in September of that year. Now, the release of the first volume of Stranger Things season 4 is just under a week away, with the second part scheduled for release in July.

Adding more hype to the already highly-anticipated season, Brown made a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she hinted that Stranger Things season 4 will delve into Eleven's origins and how the trauma that she endured impacted her. In addition, the actress teased a lot of revelations and emotional moments to come, telling host Jimmy Fallon that season 4 will feature "lots of answers — lots of crying, lots of laughing." "The main part, and the slogan of this storyline, is it’s the beginning of the end," Brown told Fallon. "We really have to dig deep into [Eleven’s] beginning and how she became who she is with the people around her, and how to gain that autonomy and become this woman on her own. So this storyline this season really digs into that."

Besides exploring Eleven's origins in detail, season 4 will also include the return of one of Stranger Things' most beloved characters, David Harbour's Jim Hopper. Largely presumed dead following the Starcourt Battle, Hopper is now "imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, Russia, where he will face dangers both human… and other," according to an official synopsis. Teasers for the series have also confirmed Hopper's true fate.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Stranger Things would end after season 5, which is likely going to be released in 2023 at the earliest. Although the series is nearing its end, there are still plenty of mysteries waiting to be resolved, with Hopper stranded in Russia and a new villain threatening to destroy everything that the Hawkins gang has worked for. Fortunately, the answers to those enigmas are right around the corner.

Stranger Things season 4 premieres on May 27, 2022, on Netflix.
