When making the original Marvel’s Spider-Man, Insomniac Games had a massive lineup of costumes to choose from. Peter Parker’s long legacy in both comics and on the big screen ensured that there were dozens of cool suits to feature in the game, and more have been added to the lineup as the years have gone by. However, Insomniac Games did not have that same luxury with Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
While the young wallcrawler has taken the world by storm in recent years, his first comic book appearance came in 2011. As such, Miles as a character is just over a decade old, meaning that Marvel has not had that long to give him alternate costumes. As a result, Insomniac had to get creative, making several original costumes for Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Fortunately, it knocked these new looks out of the park, and there are a few that a sequel absolutely needs to incorporate.
Original Insomniac Suits From Spider-Man: Miles Morales That Need To Return
Of all Insomniac’s original costumes for Miles Morales, none are quite as beloved as the Bodega Cat suit. This costume sees Miles donning a casual attire while having a feline companion follow him on his journey, with the mask-wearing cat occasionally hopping out of the bag to assist with a finishing move. Seeing the cat peek out when swinging through New York is a ton of fun, and with Insomniac already putting the work into the cat animations for Miles’ spin-off game, it would be a shame if the outfit was not brought back in his next adventure.
Another Insomniac creation that deserves to return is the TRACK suit. This costume adds white to Miles’ classic outfit, and this change has a major impact on the webslinger’s overall aesthetic. It also stands out as a unique but familiar attire, like Insomniac’s Advanced Suit, ensuring that most fans would likely be fine with it taking on a bigger role if it ever became Miles’ main costume.
Must-Have Miles Morales Suits From Movies and Comics
One of Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ best costumes is the Into The Spider-Verse suit, as Insomniac Games went above and beyond with this particular design. Not only does it maintain the unique visual style of the Oscar-winning film, but it also has intentionally choppy animation and comic book text when landing hits to further mimic the movie. With no movie suit being as well-crafted as this one, it absolutely needs to come back.
The Spider-Man 2099 should be seen again as well, with Insomniac nailing the translation of this comic book look. Not only does Miles boast a more unique spider similar to Miguel O’Hara’s, but he also has glowing blue eyes and a unique hoodie. If Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 brings back the popular 2099 costume for Peter, it would make sense for Miles to have a 2099 variant as well. The 2020 suit would be another stellar choice for a returning costume, as this unique outfit provides a futuristic helmet that ensures it looks nothing like the other options in the game. No matter what the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 costume lineup looks like, this design would likely still stand out, with the digital eyes and leather jacket deserving to be seen again.
The last suit that is a must-have for the sequel is The End costume, an outfit based on a particular run of Miles Morales comics that sees an old Miles helping humanity survive in a post-apocalyptic future. Alongside some camo shorts and reshaped eyes, the suit sports a memorable jacket and symbol. While there are other neat costumes in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, like the Prowler-inspired Purple Reign, the cosmetics mentioned above are the best of the best and should be unlockable in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
