While promoting her film Luckiest Girl Alive, Mila Kunis dropped some tidbits about That '90s Show. The Netflix series, which serves as a sequel to That '70s Show, will explore the lives of the original gang about sixteen years after the series finale of the original.

That '70s Show ran on the Fox Network from 1998 to 2006. It aired a total of 200 episodes over 8 seasons. While a success during its days on the air, the show became a bona fide cult classic in the ensuing years, especially after being added to streaming services like Netflix, where it performed extremely well. This resulted in Netflix ordering the '90s spinoff show.

In an interview with Access, Kunis discussed her return to Point Place, Wisconsin. She disclosed that her character, Jackie, has been married to Kelso, played by Ashton Kutcher, Kunis' real-life husband whom she met on the set of That '70s Show. In the intervening 16 years, Jackie and Kelso have had a child together, but Kunis joked that she "called BS" on this development. Kunis recalls her character ending up with Wilmer Valderrama's Fez in the finale of That '70s Show, and recalled that Kelso had moved away to be a police officer, living with the mother of his baby, Brooke (Shannon Elizabeth).

Kunis further said that she was "super nervous" to return to the set, saying it was probably the most nerve-wracking moment of her career. Acting opposite her husband on a set that closely mirrored one of her earliest roles rattled Kunis, but she stated that it ended up being a quick one-scene cameo, and encouraged fans, hyping up the sequel series cast. Kunis' revelations about her role in the show shed some light on the returning cast.

It had previously been announced that all the original cast members would be returning, sans Danny Masterson, who is embroiled in a legal battle about alleged sexual assaults, but Kunis indicates that at least she and Kutcher will only be appearing briefly. While it's known that Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith will be the main characters as Kitty and Red Forman, most of the original cast will likely be special guest stars.

Donna (Laura Prepon) and Eric (Topher Grace) will likely cameo in the first episode, as the plot of the series involves the two of them dropping off their daughter, Leia (Callie Haverda), in Point Place. There, she'll spend the summer of '95 with her grandparents, Red and Kitty Forman, and meet a new generation of teens in Point Place, Wisconsin.

That '90s Show will premiere on Netflix on January 19, 2023.
