Miitopia remains one of the classic Nintendo games that was released to the 3DS in 2017. Given that Miitopia was released near the end of the 3DS lifecycle, many players were unable to try it out, especially after the Switch was released in the same year.
Luckily for players, Nintendo finally released the remastered version of Miitopia on Nintendo Switch, featuring many of the original game's best features, such as its unique combat, adorable art style, and the many jobs players can take in the game. It is worth noting that Miitopia features 12 jobs plus two secret jobs, which could be overwhelming for new players. Here is a breakdown of every available job in Miitopia.
Miitopia: Default Jobs
Upon starting Miitopia, players will first encounter the game's Mii maker, before being given the option to choose between six default jobs that are all readily available at the start of the game. These six default jobs include Warrior, Mage, Cleric, Thief, Pop Star, and Chef. Each job breaks down into unique attributes and characteristics, and what players can do while embarking on their chosen profession.
- Warrior - The Warrior profession specializes in single-target damage and party defense. Having a high HP, Attack, and Defense, the Warrior is the perfect choice for players who wish to lead combat. However, to balance it out, the Warrior lacks Speed and Magic. The Warrior's Snap Out ability allows them to take care of negative status effects on allies, making this skill a valuable secondary role.
- Mage - As its name implies, the Mage profession utilizes magic and spell casting to deal heavy damage on enemies. Spells can target enemies either individually or as a group, making the Mage an invaluable member of any party. Out of the many spells the Mage could cast, Explosion is easily the best one, given that it can deal significant damage on multiple enemies.
- Cleric - Although Cleric is not usually the character the best character for combat, its support skills such as healing make them an important member of every party, especially when dealing with boss fights. Despite the Cleric being primarily a supporting character, they can hold their own in battle, given the proper equipment and stat boost. Their Righteous Anger skill increases the chances of instantly killing an enemy by 50 percent.
- Thief - Despite having to steal items from enemies is the defining skill of the Thief, players who choose this job should know that it is one of the best starting careers to get, given that it can attack all enemies with basic moves. The Thief's abilities are instrumental in Miitopia's opening area of Eastern Hills, given that many encounters deal with four or more enemies.
- Pop Star - Another supporting job available in Miitopia is the Pop Star. One of the defining abilities of the Pop Star is that it can benefit other players with whom they have a high enough relationship. Pop Stars also have tons of stat buffing and area-of-effect skills and a multitude of clothing options, all of which are not gender locked.
- Chef - Lastly, the Chef's employs a multitude of cooking skills, allowing them to whip up food that could serve as healing items for party members while also dealing some damage. However, unlike other jobs that have the ability to heal, the Chef is the only one that is unable to resurrect allies.
Miitopia: Jobs After Unlocking Greenhorne
Greenhorne serves as one of the first areas in the game and is also the town made available in the demo. As soon as players unlock Greenhorne, three other jobs are unlocked: Cat, Imp, and Scientist.
- Cat - Given the adorable aesthetic and gameplay of Miitopia, it is no surprise that the Cat profession is one of the most popular jobs available in the game. For the uninitiated, the Cat job puts players in the role of a literal Cat that can be described as the combination of the abilities of the Rogue and the Cleric. In combat, Cats can hit multiple targets quickly, and abilities like Double Scratch make them invaluable members of any party.
- Imp - The Imp profession focuses on magic damage and tampering with the abilities and skills of enemies. The Imp's Charm ability allows them to restore an ally's MP that would cause them to deal more damage. However, this also forces allies only to use their default attack.
- Scientist - The Scientist employs a strong set of buffing abilities, and they also have plenty of offensive attacks that can damage multiple enemies. Being a supporting role, the Scientist can heal their allies and shield them from certain status effects.
Miitopia: Jobs After Unlocking Neksdor
Neksdor is the second region players can visit in Miitopia. This region is mostly desert, with Wetland Way the unique area in Neksdor. Like Greenhorne, unlocking Neksdor grants players access to three additional jobs: Tank, Princess, and Flower.
- Tank - In most RPG games, that tank is a character whose defining ability is to withstand heavy damage from enemies. However, in Miitopia, players who choose the Tank profession to become literal tanks that can fire other Miis to attack enemies. However, players must use the Human Canonball ability wisely, given that doing so would cause resentment between party members.
- Princess - The Princess is somewhat similar to the Pop Star and serves as a pure support job and MP healer. The Princess can easily build relationships during combat, which is perfect for support characters. Although The Princess is a good support job, it doesn't really do well in combat, unlike other similar careers.
- Flower - At this point, players should know that Miitopia's names for its jobs are always literal, and the Flower turns players into actual flowers. Although Flowers can deal damage with magic and heal their allies, they can also strike multiple targets.
Miitopia: Secret Jobs
Apart from the 12 official jobs that players can unlock in Miitopia, players committed to exploring everything the game has to offer can also unlock two secret jobs. These secret jobs consist of the Elf and Vampire, both of which require charms to unlock.
- Elf - After completing a side quest in the later stage of Miitopia that requires players to retrieve the Elevn Charm, players can unlock the Elf. The Elf serves as a "jack of all trades" class, given that it can do a little bit of everything. Although it is nice to explore many abilities as an Elf, players are better off with other jobs that specialize in certain abilities.
- Vampire - The last secret job available in Miitopia is the Vampire, which players can unlock after obtaining the Bat Charm. Unlike the Elf, the Vampire proves to be more impressive thanks to its wide range of offensive abilities and a strong set of buffing abilities. Given their high base Magic stat, Vampires are one of the most powerful spell casters in Miitopia.
