The Midnight Society studio has recently cut ties with the content creator Dr Disrespect after allegations about his previous Twitch ban surfaced. Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV, also known as Dr Disrespect, was permanently banned from Twitch back in June 2020, and fans have been wondering why that happened ever since.

Dr Disrespect is a prominent gaming content creator and streamer who started his career in 2010 and has over 4.7 million YouTube subscribers. Beahm’s persona, Dr Disrespect, is a caricature of an obnoxious gamer and is loved by many fans due to the comedy tone of his work. Back in 2021, Beahm founded the gaming studio Midnight Society together with Robert Bowling and Quinn DelHoyo. The team announced an extraction shooter called Deadrop in 2022, which has not been released yet.

Now, Midnight Society has officially cut all ties with the content creator due to the allegations regarding Dr Disrespect’s ban from Twitch in 2020. The accusation surfaced a few days ago when former Twitch staff member Cody Conners claimed that Dr Disrespect was banned because he was “sexting a minor” on Twitch’s Whispers, a currently inactive private messaging service, and trying to meet her at TwitchCon. In Midnight Society’s official statement, the team explains that they had assumed Beahm’s innocence in the story previously, but decided to terminate the relationship with the content creator “to maintain our principles and standards as a studio and individuals.”

Dr Disrespect Is No Longer Part of Midnight Society

Dr Disrespect has talked about the Twitch ban allegations after Conners accused him. On June 21, the day when the allegations surfaced, the streamer claimed that "no wrongdoing was acknowledged" by either him or Twitch over this ban. A day later, he spoke about the event again, reaffirming that nothing illegal happened and that the whole situation was settled with Twitch years ago.

The controversy seems to have taken a toll on the streamer’s career, though, as Dr Disrespect recently announced that he would take a break from streaming. During one of his latest streams, Beahm reiterated that he did not care about Conners’ allegations and that he was already planning to take a vacation in the near future, so he may end up extending those plans and taking some time off now. At the moment, it’s unclear when the content creator plans to return from this vacation. Also, the streamer did not comment on Midnight Society’s decision to cut off ties with him at the time of this report.
