Monolith Studios, the developer behind Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and the upcoming Wonder Woman game, might be working on other DC-based titles according to a new job listing. After making a name for itself with the well-received Shadow of Mordor and its follow-up Shadow of War, Monolith announced that it was developing an open-world Wonder Woman game during The Game Awards 2021. Not much is currently known about Diana Prince’s latest interactive adventure, except that it will utilize Monolith’s proprietary Nemesis System that made battles in Shadow of Mordor feel more personal by having foes remember players and their actions.

It will likely be a while before fans see more of Monolith’s upcoming Wonder Woman game, but the legendary princess of Themyscira will be returning to the virtual world in next year’s Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. This co-op shooter is set in Rocksteady’s beloved Batman: Arkham universe, and will put players in the role of Task Force X as they battle the renegade heroes of Earth. WB Games Montreal, the studio behind last year’s Gotham Knights, is also working on a DC-based title, though it isn’t clear what hero or team it could be about as of this writing.

Now it seems that even more DC games could be on the horizon courtesy of Monolith Studios, at least according to the developer’s latest job listing for an Executive Producer. Eagle-eyed Twitter users like James Sigfield have noted the requirements of this posting, which mention working on multiple projects and ask for knowledge of the DC franchise and its various characters.

This is all just speculation at this point, but some users think that whatever Monolith is hiring for could be related to DC Studios and its upcoming reboot of the DC Cinematic Universe. DC Studios head James Gunn addressed the possibility of expanding his company’s slate of superhero movies with tie-in video games shortly after he was announced as co-chair of the struggling superhero brand, though he remained tight-lipped on any particular plans.

All that is known officially is that Monolith Studios is hiring an Executive Producer for an unconfirmed slate of projects, though the mention of DC is a strong sign that the Shadow of Mordor developer has other superhero titles on the horizon to go with its upcoming Wonder Woman game. Whether these games will be tied to James Gunn’s new DC Cinematic Universe or be standalone is as big a mystery as the games themselves, but all signs point to a new wave of DC titles to rival successful comic book titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man series from Insomniac.
