Joyful Tickets are part of the seasonal holiday celebrations in Monster Hunter World, and they give players access to the unique Oolong armor set for their Hunter. Like most other armor pieces in the game, this set can also be turned into Layered Armor for the fashionable player's convenience.

With Monster Hunter Wilds' appearance of an evolving environment, the traditional style of hub may be very different than in games of the past.

To get the layered Oolong armor in Monster Hunter World, players are going to need VIP Joyful Tickets instead of the usual ones. They're a bit rarer, but you can collect them relatively quickly if you know what to do. Here's how to get some.

As with other event armor sets, players will need VIP Joyful Tickets to craft the layered Oolong set (among other things). To get these, you'll simply need to complete quests while the Holiday Joy Fest is currently ongoing. You'll know it's on when the Gathering Hubs and its staff are all dressed up to celebrate Christmas (Astera) or the Chinese New Year (Seliana).

VIP Joyful Tickets can drop from any quest while the event is active. Your best bet for farming tickets is to complete quick quests like gathering quests, small monster extermination jobs, or delivery events like A Fish To Whet Your Appetite under Event quests. The latter is especially good for melee players using weapons with low sharpness, as the quest can yield Whetfish Fins, which are basically better Whetstones.

Event quests in Monster Hunter World

An alternative is to do Special Arena quests, hunt low-rank monsters, or answer SOS calls. Whichever method you choose, you have a relatively small chance of getting a VIP Holiday Joy Fest ticket. If you want to be as efficient as possible, then go with gathering/delivery quests so you can also stock up on much-needed supplies.

Apart from the Oolong Layered Armor, you can also use VIP Holiday Joy Tickets to craft the Lucky Tiger charm (that comes in six different colors) for your weapons. Additionally, you can give two VIP tickets to the Resource Center for the Lighting Up The Place and The House of Holiday Joy delivery quests to get the Joyful Lanterns and Joyful Snowman decorations for your room.

If you ever find yourself with too many VIP Holiday Joy Tickets, you can spend the excess at the Elder Melder to create high-level armor decorations. Visit the Elder Melder, then look for the Gold Melding Ticket in the list of options. Then, select your VIP Holiday Joy Tickets as the main ingredient for melding.
