A power outage will occur as soon as players pick up the Thermal Visor, and they should press down on the d-pad to activate their new item. With the Thermal Visor equipped, fans will be capable of returning to the top of the Research Core. Here, Metroid Prime Remastered players will find that the exit is without power, and they must fire their Wave Beam at the circular conduit next to the door before they can pass through. Notably, these types of conduits are only visible when the Thermal Visor is active, and fans will locate many of them throughout the remainder of their playthroughs.

After leaving the Research Core, players should work their way back to the Save Station at the Observatory. Fans will encounter a variety of enemies along this path, including the deadly Sentry Drones, and Metroid Prime Remastered's Samus Aran should use her Missiles and charged Wave Beam shots to dispatch them as quickly as possible.

Once a save has been made at the Observatory, players should continue backtracking until they reach the Save Station at the top of the Ruined Courtyard, which should be utilized. From there, fans should look toward the door that is directly across from the Ruined Courtyard's Save Station and activate the Thermal Visor. This action will reveal that there is a conduit hidden above the door, and players should fire one of Metroid Prime Remastered's Super Missiles at the conduit's location to uncover it and then activate it with a Wave Beam shot.
