A credible gaming news seeker has uncovered signs that Metroid Prime 4 could finally be reaching the end of development. There hasn’t been a new entry in the beloved Metroid Prime spin-off series since Metroid Prime 3: Corruption back in 2007, and players have been waiting eagerly for Samus Aran’s next chilling first-person adventure. Metroid Prime 4 was first announced at E3 2017, but the project would suffer numerous setbacks in the years to come.

Originally, Metroid Prime 4 was going to be developed by Bandai Namco Studios, but Nintendo grew dissatisfied with the studio’s work and restarted the project in 2019 under the watchful eye of original Metroid Prime co-producer Kensuke Tanabe and Retro Studios, the developer behind the first three Metroid Prime games. Metroid Prime 4 Leak Could Narrow Down Release Date

A new rumor making the rounds online could potentially narrow down the release date for the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4.

Nintendo-based gaming YouTuber SuperMetalDave64 recently posted a Metroid Prime 4 video uncovering several clues that the highly-anticipated sequel could finally be nearing the end of its long and troubled development cycle. First, it appears that Nintendo conducted quality tests around ten months ago on demo versions of Metroid Prime 4 to check for bugs and other technical issues. This claim comes from the resume of Edwin Atwell, who has experience in quality testing games like Call of Duty using the bug-tracking Jira Software. Additionally, SuperMetalDave64 states that Retro Studios was reportedly hiring extra personnel with diverse industry experience to work on the game between 2021 and 2022.

SuperMetalDave64 also revealed that Retro Studios has partnered with Next-Gen Dreams 3D, a studio specializing in detailed and imaginative first trailers for video games. It has collaborated with numerous developers, with one of its most recent projects being the debut trailer for the upcoming Ghost Story Games-developed FPS Judas. Retro Studios’ logo was once included on Next-Gen Dreams 3D’s website under a list of the company’s past and present partners, but it has since been removed.

While none of the information SuperMetalDave64 has provided necessarily confirms that Metroid Prime 4 will be shown off soon, it is all solid proof that the game could be well on its way to release. The game has reportedly been in development for nearly five years since being restarted with Retro Studios at the helm, and anxious Metroid fans have been held over with the releases of Metroid Dread in 2021 and Metroid Prime Remastered last February. If SuperMetalDave64’s latest tidbits are anything to go by, it might not be too much longer before players see Samus in action once more in Metroid Prime 4.
