In Metroid Dread, players will need to destroy Central Units in order to gain a special power to destroy the EMMI robots that are trying to take Samus down. Once players kill the second EMMI with the Omega Blaster in Artaria, they will gain the unique Spider Magnet ability, allowing Samus to attach herself to those blue magnetic surfaces that players no doubt have encountered already.

For Metroid Dread players that can not figure out where to go next after acquiring the ability, here's the path to follow to get to the next story beat.

Where to Go After Getting the Spider Magnet in Metroid Dread

From the room where the Central Unit was that players destroyed to get the Omega Blaster, they should head out the door to the left and then head down. Go left into the next room, and there will be a blue magnetic surface for Samus to grab onto. It's here in this corner pictured below.

Climb up the wall to enter the door in the top-left corner of the room. In the next room, immediately climb up the blue wall and enter the door above the one players just came out of. Keep heading right into the next room.

Upon entering, there will be blue surfaces on the left side. Climb all the way to the top and then shoot the two breakable boxes separating the player from a missile tank. To the right of the tank is a blue platform.

Jump on the blue wall platform to bring it down, revealing a hidden door that leads east. Head to the next room and then keep going until a cinematic cutscene plays. This boss fight is the first official one in Metroid Dread and can be tricky to take down. However, as long as players utilize their missiles and use the Spider Magnet when necessary, the boss shouldn't be too difficult.

There are many other locations where the Spider Magnet can be used, so players should search for more as they progress through their solo journey as the iconic bounty hunter.

Metroid Dread is now available for the Nintendo Switch.
