The Caspian level has a number of hidden items that gamers will want to pick up to upgrade their character. After completing level six, Metro Exodus players will be thrust into Caspian, which is one of the open-world levels in the storyline. In th story, Miller travels all the way to the Caspian Sea in search of the satellite control center named Caspian-1.
With heat stroke and bandits getting in the way of Miller's plans, Artyom has to venture out alone to look for signs of what happened to the control center. Along the way, there are a ton of Caspian upgrades, such as weapon attachments, as well as a motion scanner, armor upgrade, NVG upgrade, and a flashlight upgrade. With a lot of next-gen players likely picking up the updated title for the first time, they will need a few tips to progress through Caspian.
Updated on September 27, 2021 by Payton Lott: Players will likely have at least a few weapons by the time they reach the Caspian. Those that missed some of the guns in the earlier missions will be able to pick them up while completing the Caspian storyline. Many of the locations of the weapons are at or near story objectives, making collecting all of them a simple task. What's more, most weapons have several in game spawns. Use the locations detailed below to test out all of the interesting weapons in Metro Exodus.
Motion Scanner
Gamers can find the motion scanner upgrade in the wrecked ship on the west side of the map. After entering the hull by the hanging skeleton, people should proceed up the first set of stairs. There is a collectible on the desk right at the top of the first flight of stairs to pick up. From there, if players turn around and climb up the ladder, they will be led into a storage room to the right. The upgrade is sitting on a table in that room.
The motion scanner is useful against camouflaged enemies, but it can be irritating when around friendlies. The scanner will beep every single time it detects a being is near, even if they are friendly NPCs. For that reason, it should only be equipped when necessary.
Night Vision Goggles Upgrade
There is an air traffic control building in the southeast corner of the map with an observation level. Artyom can find the upgrade by making his way to the top-level overlook. There are sometimes invisible enemies, so using the motion scanner is helpful. Once at the top, there will be a safe and the NVD upgrade for the goggles. This upgrade provides head signature mapping in addition to night vision.
Consumables Upgrade
Due north of the air traffic control building, there is a cave that contains a consumables carrier. There is a man at the bottom of a small slope at the cave entrance. Inside of the cave, this useful Caspian upgrade is right next to the crafting bench. The consumables carrier provides extra inventory space for items like med kits and filters. Picking up the upgrade helps manage inventory space later in the game.
Flashlight Upgrade
Just to the west of the lighthouse, there is a beached boat in the desert sand. Inside of that boat, the flashlightupgrade is sitting on top of a small box next to the cot. This Exodus upgrade is way too bright for Caspian, but will be effective when navigating the darker locations later in the game.
Armored Glass Gas Mask
The glass upgrade can be found near the cave entrance directly west of the lighthouse. In the story, Artyom will travel there to try and find the Oasis. After climbing up the ladder near the entrance, gamers will find Baron's letter. Just to the left of the letter is the mask upgrade.
Every player will want to pick up the upgrade, as it withstands far more damage than the basic mask before cracking.
Weapons In The Caspian
Gamers can pick up a majority of the weapons in the game while they are in the Caspian. While searching the map for all of the weapon upgrades, people should keep an eye out for these weapons, which are easy enough to get. The following sections cover where to find each of the Caspian weapons on the map. It has already been mentioned, but people can find a Kalash, Valve, and Gatling gun in the air traffic control tower on the southeast corner of the map.
Valve
Head all the way to the southwest end of the map. Just to the east of the southwest corner of the map there will be an elevated building with a dead body inside. The Valve is lying on the table.
Shambler
Players will end up in this location during the story mission where they must take down the sniper on the southwest edge of the map. Just to the west of the Valve, there is a small camp with a dilapidated two-story building. One of the enemies on the second floor will drop a Shambler.
Gatling Gun And Bastard
At the beached ship slave camp on the west side of the Caspian lies the Gatling gun. This weapon will drop from almost any boss that players encounter, but this is an easy way to pick one up. Climb all the way up to the third level on the west side of the ship. The weapon will be sitting on some crates below the ladder to the deck. To the right of the Gatling gun is the Bastard, another very effective weapon in Exodus.
Bulldog
Players can find the Bulldog at the story objective that lies between the two bays. This is the point that overlooks the largest bay in the Caspian. While there, gamers will take out several enemies at a camp. The Bulldog will drop from one of those enemies.
Caspian Weapon Upgrades
There are quite a few Exodus weapon upgrades that are scattered in the Caspian. Anyone that has the Bulldog, Shambler, Kalash, or Valve will want to find the attachments below.
Bulldog 60 Round Mag
In the beached ship to the southwest of the large shipwreck home to the slaves, players can find this attachment on the bridge.
Kalash Drum Mag
Find this one in the center of the map, where there are a handful of shipping containers near each other. Those that inspect each container will find the magazine in one of them.
Shambler 10 Round Mag
After traveling south to the crossroads from the lighthouse, players will spot the shell of a car. The magazine is where the front seat would be.
Shambler Fixed Cylinder
The six-shooter improves reload speed and fire rate. It is found at the top of the air traffic control tower.
Valve 15 Round Mag
This attachment is in the same location as the armor upgrade. Players will spot it near the workbench in the cave.
Heavy Stock
The Heavy Stock is compatible with the Shambler, Kalash, and Bulldog. While picking up the NVD at the air traffic control tower, people can snag the stock on the bottom floor. The attachment greatly reduces weapon recoil.
Laser Sight
Players can find the Laser Sight in a shed right next to the traffic control building. There is another north of the Aurora.
