An iconic vocalist of certain Metal Gear Solid songs, Donna Burke, is working on a cover of Metal Gear Solid 3's iconic "Snake Eater" theme. Fans should however keep their expectations in check, as it is not tied to anything regarding a remake of the latter game. Amidst all the rumors revolving around Konami recently, one of the biggest prevailing ones is a possible remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the series' most acclaimed and fondly remembered entry. However, there's been no solid evidence that such as project is in the works, especially on the music side.Donna Burke has previously sung the Metal Gear Solid main themes "Heavens Divide" and "Sins of the Father," which come from Peace Walker and The Phantom Pain specifically. She also provided the voice of the iDROID in both Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain, along with covers for songs that appeared throughout the series in the "Metal Gear Solid ~Vocal Tracks~" album, including a remix of Snake Eater. Burke recently confirmed that she's doing another cover of the iconic track, but it is unrelated to the recent rumors regarding the game.RELATED: Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes Fan is Restoring The Original Voice ActingBurke first tweeted out a photo of her in the recording studio, holding a card that indicated that she'd be doing something related to the song, Snake Eater. A follow-up tweet a few hours later showed her working with sound engineers and a director, Mason Lieberman, with some eagle-eyed fans spotting the lyrics to the song on a desk nearby. Before fans could get too excited however, Lieberman immediately sets the record straight, stating that neither he nor Burke were working on the song for a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

While this will be likely disappointing to hear, Lieberman wanted to clarify the situation as so no misinformation is being spread. On top of squashing that rumor, he also clarifies this song isn't being used for anything involving the Tencent conglomerate. He does state that they are working on a cover of the iconic Metal Gear Solid 3 song, and that it sounds "incredible," along with its release to come later.

If an MGS3 remake was in the works with Donna Burke involved, the detail likely wouldn't have been revealed until later, as there are usually non-disclosure agreements put in place to prevent details like these from being leaked early. Any breaches of NDAs would also have long-lasting consequences, so Burke wouldn't have tweeted something like that without drawing Konami's attention. Regardless, the possibility of a remake still remains a rumor for the time being.
