Konami shared an exhaustive list of known issues that will be present in the day-one version of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1. The collection containing five Metal Gear games is scheduled to release on October 24.

Konami already attempted to temper the fandom's expectations regarding the upcoming bundle back in September, when it revealed that its version of Metal Gear Solid will only run in 30 frames per second across all platforms. The company did not clarify what prevented it from hitting a smoother performance target with this remaster of a 25-year-old game.

Metal Gear Solid Trophy List Revealed

Trophy lists for the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol 1. are revealed online, including the first ever trophy list for the original MGS.

A day ahead of the Master Collection Vol. 1 release, Konami confirmed over a dozen known issues that will be affecting its upcoming remasters at launch. Starting with the newest game in the bundle, the IGN-relayed list reveals that the MGS3 remaster will feature subtitle typos across all of its EU language localizations, as well as buggy triggers for background music in certain cutscenes. An unspecified visual effect could also suffer from a timing delay, with that issue reportedly also affecting the remasters of the first two MGS games. Based on that description, it's possible that Konami is referring to the iconic red exclamation mark that appears above MGS guards' heads whenever they spot the player.

Furthermore, the PC remasters of the first three MGS games and the MSX2 versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 won't offer the ability to choose between windowed and full-screen execution at launch. Metal Gear Solid 2, in particular, will also suffer from significant slowdowns during select cutscenes. A number of unspecified bugs permeating all 3D remasters have also been identified by Konami and are currently awaiting fixes.

The bonus content in Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 also won't be problem-free, not least because the subtitles in some Metal Gear and Snake's Revenge cutscenes have yet to be synchronized correctly with the audio. As is the case with the rest of the Master Collection's launch issues, Konami intends to address this particular problem with a future patch. Snake's Revenge and the SNES version of Metal Gear are also planned to receive a number of extra graphics options post-release, including an aspect ratio selector and a CRT-style scan line filter.

Although Konami promised to resolve all of the newly outlined problems in due time, the company has not committed to a specific time frame for any such fixes. And while its decision to disclose these issues is commendable from a transparency perspective, it remains to be seen whether it impacts the launch performance of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1, especially given the $60 price tag that Konami attached to the upcoming bundle.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 releases October 24 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
