Konami has released a series of in-game screenshots showing off just how good Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, looks. There have been leaks and rumors about a potential Metal Gear Solid 3 remake for months, and it was finally confirmed at the PlayStation Showcase with an exciting CG trailer.

While the CG trailer for the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake still caused quite a buzz, some fans understandably would rather see in-game footage. There are no in-game videos for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater to watch just yet, but Konami has released a series of screenshots that can hopefully tide Metal Gear Solid fans over in the meantime.

The screenshots are noted to be from a work-in-progress game, but if the final product looks anything like them, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will likely be the best-looking MGS game to date. The Metal Gear Solid 3 remake screenshots show the harsh jungle environments that Naked Snake will have to traverse in the game, as well as some areas being patrolled by guards. Fans can also see a rope bridge hanging perilously over a chasm, as well as a terrifying crocodile.

Wildlife and the jungle environment played key roles in the original Metal Gear Solid 3, so it makes sense that they will be a focus in the remake as well. Details on how exactly Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be evolving the gameplay from the original MGS 3 are unavailable at the time of this writing, but more information should come to light in the months ahead.

Someone that's nowhere to be found in any of the screenshots is Naked Snake himself, so it remains to be seen just how his in-game model looks in the remake. However, it has been said that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be bringing back the original cast, meaning David Hayter will be reprising his role as Snake.

Fans that can't wait for the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake will have an opportunity to revisit the original game later this fall. Konami announced the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 alongside the MGS 3 remake, with the collection bringing together five Metal Gear games. This includes the HD version of the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater game, so Metal Gear fans have a lot to look forward to.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
