Veterans who have survived until the endgame of Medieval Dynasty are well aware of how important caves are. They're full of valuable materials that are required for the best creations in the game. In the early game, they're also very expensive, so hopping in for a quick cash grab is a great idea.

There is a serious catch to this idea, however. The precious metals are extremely heavy. Mining a node or two at the start of the game might be all a player can do without dropping the rest of their inventory. The other issue is that these caves are rare. There are only five in all of Medieval Dynasty, so take note of which ones to visit regularly.

Updated on February 28th, 2023 by Hodey Johns: In a given playthrough, it's not guaranteed that players will find a cave at all. Despite being the only places where players can reliably harvest minerals and ores, they are difficult to find, often requiring an intentional visitation to find. Because they are so rare and yet so vital to success at the endgame stage, this article has added an important section. The overall cave map will show all cave spots from a general overview to help gamers wondering about map placement. There are so many other factors to consider with village placement such as water, soil, local animals, and more. Because of their rarity, caves are mistakenly seen as an afterthought. This world map should help proactive strategists determine where the best building spot for a village is.

Overall Cave Map

Medieval Dyanasty Cave Location Map

As players traverse the map, leveling up the most important skills and talents, they will only rarely come across a cave. Some are just off of a path but the paths are isolated ones through mountainous areas. Others aren't going to be discovered unless players intentionally go out of the way to find them.

When building a village, it's critical to find food for villagers during the early stages. Still, keep in mind that these villages will be self-sufficient by the mid-game stage. Being close to a cave is vital to success. Look over the map and find a good spot to build with a cave nearby.

Specific Cave Locations

These are the locations of each individual cave for gamers that would like to make their way to a specific one.

Northernmost Cave

Medieval Dynasty North Cave

There is only one cave north of the main river. Between the sister cities of Branica and Baranica to the northernmost edge of the map is a cave. The river isn't big enough to fish from and the two cities are quite close, but a small settlement could mine this cave nicely. Keep the villagers happy and working.

Westernmost Cave

The cave is so far west that the cursor won't go over there unless players are already so far west that opening the map starts the cursor this far out. The cave is just a few hundred meters south of Lesnica.

There is some exquisite hunting here as well. The terrain is bumpy and the river is both distant and small, but, once again, a few miners should be happy enough here.

Jezerica Cave

Medieval Dynasty Jezerica Cave Location

Jezerica Cave is between the two lakes to the southwest. The outskirts of the mountains here make things very bumpy and, unlike the previous caves, there isn't any water remotely close. But the proximity to a major settlement could be a nice perk.

Mountaintop Cave

The highest peak in the game has a cave right inside of it. Players can find it by climbing the entire mountain and looking down, but a convenient trail to the top actually goes right by it.

Because of the closeness to a trail and the total isolation, this is likely the toughest place to build a village. But keep the wife happy with some trinkets, use some creativity, and this may be the most unorthodox settlement in the game.

Southeastern Cave

Finally, a close major body of water and some isolation. Well, the southeastern cave may be too isolated as it's truly in the bottom right-hand corner of the map. All of the caves are somewhat on the outskirts of the map, but this one is particularly far away from major cities.

Medieval Dynasty is available now on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
