Black Widow's solo movie has finally hit theatres 11 years after her MCU debut in Iron Man 2. The femme fatale's solo outing has been something millions of fans have been clamoring for, and their anticipation has finally been fed. Black Widow explores Natasha Romanoff's past and explains her desires to fix her Avengers family.

Like so many other movies, however, Black Widow is far from perfect. The movie has a lot of flaws, both glaring and subtle. Some of these flaws don't really break the movie's plot, but some of them just make so little sense that it's difficult to overlook.

7 Is Natasha's Face Not Famous Enough?

In the world of the MCU, it should be unquestionable that the Avengers are some of the most popular figures in the world. They've saved the world countless times and they're always on the news. The disbanding of the Avengers is also a popular story in this world, as well as the defection of Captain America and Black Widow.

With this in mind, someone like Natasha Romanoff shouldn't be able to just walk around casually in public places without at least a few people recognizing her. In the film, she walks around Budapest surrounded by tons of people, and not one person points her out.

6 The Red Guardian And Captain America

As Ursa said in the movie, there's no way for Alexei to have met Captain Steve Rogers on the years he said they faced each other. He would have been still on ice by then. Boasting to co-inmates about fighting Captain America is one thing, but asking your daughter figure who happens to be associated with him is another.

It's clear the Red Guardian and Captain America didn't meet in the 80s, yet when talking to Natasha, Alexei seems to believe he and Steve did meet and face off at some point. Whether he was lying or they did somehow meet is unknown at this point.

5 Dreykov's Daughter

The Black Widow movie finally reveals exactly what happened to Dreykov's daughter after the event is name-dropped by Loki in the first Avengers film. As it turns out, Black Widow used Dreykov's daughter to track her father. She had planted bombs on the daughter and detonated them when she got close to him.

Disregarding the logic of how Dreykov's daughter ended up surviving this awful attack, the way Natasha got to Dreykov seems horrifically unnecessary. She could have still used the daughter to tail the father, but rigging her backpack with bombs is too wreckless for a precise assassin as the Black Widow especially since she didn't even bother confirming the kill.

4 What Really Happened In Budapest

This question is something many fans have been asking ever since Natasha and Clint mentioned it in The Avengers. This movie finally gives the audience a minor glimpse of the eventful storyline of this character's past, but the entire picture of Natasha and Clint's exploit in Budapest still remains unclear.

How Natasha and Clint got chased by the Hungarian Special Forces is vague, given they distanced themselves when they detonated the bomb attached to Dreykov's daughter.

3 How The Red Room Remained Undetected

The Red Room has remained above the radar all these years by literally staying above the radar, floating in the sky, covered by thick layers of clouds. Except, the technology of this world at this time would have allowed them to detect the Red Room. Wakanda and S.H.I.E.L.D. even have the technology to detect whenever something enters the stratosphere.

Unless the Red Room is enveloped in Stark-level cloaking technology, there's no reason for the Red Room to have remained undetected all these years. Groups like the Avengers would have had the technology to easily find them, even without trying. How often does one see a floating hideout hidden in the clouds?

2 How Natasha Was Able To Escape In The End

After taking down the Red Room, Natasha reunites with her family on the ground. However, their respite is short-lived. General Ross and his men have already closed in on the wayward Avenger. Unwating to involve her family in Natasha's personal affairs, she urges them to go, promising she'll be able to handle Ross and his men.

And then, the next scene sends the movie into a three-month time jump with no explanation as to how Natasha got away from Ross. Even for the Black Widow, the army that was coming at her seemed too overwhelming. The time jump was just too convenient and lazy a trope to use for a moment like that.

1 How Valentina Knew About Vormir

Yelena and Valentina from Black Widow

The end-credit scene shows Yelena going to Natasha's grave in order to grieve for her fallen sister. In just a few moments, she is joined by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who informs her of her next target, the person "responsible" for her sister's death: Clint Barton.

Although Clint technically isn't responsible for Natasha's death, it's even more baffling how a story detail like this is known in this world. Did the Avengers reveal to the world how the Soul Stone works? Did they reveal the details of Natasha's death and how Barton got involved with it? This may be a question that will be answered in the Hawkeye series, or perhaps an upcoming Avengers title, but for now, Valentina knowing the details of Natasha's death makes no sense at all.
