While exploring the Citadel’s ZakeraWard in Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, Commander Shepard will stumble across a Volus accusing a young Quarian of stealing his Credit Chit. Shepard can clear the Quarian’s name by finding the missing item. This guide will explain how.

Players can begin the Mass Effect 2 side quest Citadel: Crime in Progress by traveling to level 26 of the tower in Zakera Ward. A Volus, a Quarian, and a Human C-Sec Officer will be standing behind the divider and almost directly across from the Rapid Transit station. Upon interaction with the group, the Volus will demand the C-Sec Officer arrest the Quarian for picking his pocket.

The Volus also expresses a pretty strong dislike for Quarians in general, calling them thieves. The human Officer is not much better, saying, “You know what Quarians are like.” The scene has some extra dialogue if Tali is in Shepard’s party. She’ll argue with the Officer and the Volus and share some sympathetic words with her fellow Quarian.

It turns out that The Citadel’s inhabitants are very prejudiced against Quarians in Mass Effect 2. She reveals that the station's inhabitants refuse to hire Quarians and treat them like criminals. During the conversation, both parties mention bumping into each other outside the Sirta Foundation store on level 26. The Quarian also mentions visiting the used ship merchant on the same level.  However, talking to the clerk in either shop doesn’t reveal anything useful.

Mass Effect 2 How to Find the Credit Chit 02

Shepard needs to head to the Saronis Applications store in the back left corner of the main room on level 26. Talking to the Salarian clerk reveals that the Volus left it behind after buying something from the store. The clerk asks Shepard to tell the Volus he has it behind the counter. Shepard simply needs to return to the group and tell them about the Chit’s location to finish the quest in Mass Effect 2 and gain 40XP, 1,000 Credits, and 5 Paragon points.

Neither the Volus nor the C-Sec officer will seem particularly grateful for the Commander’s assistance. They don’t apologize to the Quarian either, with the Volus simply saying she “could have” stolen it. The Officer, meanwhile, threatens to arrest the Quarian for vagrancy. However, Shepard can perform a Paragon Interrupt to call them both out for their behavior.

This Interrupt is especially tight even compared to others in Mass Effect 2. The player should be ready to hit the button as soon as this icon pops up. Doing so grants Shepard an additional 5 Paragon points for a total of 10 from the mission. Players also get the satisfaction of seeing both characters get taken down a peg. Tali and the Quarian will also exchange a few extra lines at the end of the conversation.

Mass Effect 2 is available on PC, PS3, PS4, and Xbox 360, and Xbox One. It’s included in the Mass Effect Legendary Edition available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
