It's easy to get lost in the achievement/trophy lists for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. Boasting three different platinum trophies for a total of 130 overall achievements/trophies across the trilogy, it's no wonder that some fans are getting caught up in finding how to complete specific requirements for the trophies they need. It doesn't help the fact that the lists aren't copied and pasted from their original iterations so some things have been moved, altered, or flat-out cut for the remasters.

The achievement/trophy "Tactician" is listed in the Mass Effect 2 list as a part of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. Its requirements are listed as "hit 20 different targets with multiple biotic powers to combine the effects." While this may seem relatively straightforward, it can prove to be tricky if the player doesn't have the proper abilities and skills to make it happen. Unlocking "Tactician" gives the player 10 gamerscore on Xbox or a bronze trophy on PS4/PS5.

How to Unlock Tactician Achievement/Trophy

Hitting an enemy with more than one of Shepard's biotic powers seems to be a relatively simple task. In practice, however, it isn't as smooth as initially imagined because most powers turn relatively stationary enemies into much quicker moving targets. What the achievement/trophy doesn't specify is that both powers don't need to come from Shepard, in fact, neither of them does.

If the player is looking to unlock "Tactician" right when they start up Mass Effect 2, they can use Miranda and Jacob's powers together to start chipping away at the required number of successful attempts. After engaging in combat, have Jacob use Pull to make the enemy float and then hit them with Miranda's Warp. If Shepard doesn't have either of them on their team, they can also easily use Jack and Thane. Have Jack use Pull and then have Thane use Throw. Shepard doesn't necessarily need a team member to do this, but their powers might be limited to whichever class they chose at the start of the game.

It's also worth noting that this achievement/trophy doesn't need to be unlocked all once. If the player progresses through the story of Mass Effect 2 with their squadmates set to freely use their powers in the options menu, they can simply follow up with their own powers when they see one of their allies using one. This method will obviously take longer than grinding the 20 required hits out, but it might make the achievement unlock more naturally and not require any additional grinding; however, the choice is up to the player.
