Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was officially revealed just a few weeks ago, with many thrilled to finally have an official release window for the sequel. However, with 2023 still far off, gamers need to kill some time - and one Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 fan has started the trend of trailer edits in order to make the wait feel a bit shorter.

In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s first trailer, fans witness a lot of exciting things. Kraven The Hunter can be heard narrating, confirming that the classic villain will have a big role to play in the sequel’s narrative. Miles and Peter can be seen landing a team-up move, while the original webslinger shows off that the Iron Spider legs are going to be a significant part of his moveset. However, the most discussed part of the trailer thus far is easily the ending, as it sees the beloved villain Venom lurking in the shadows.

With Venom’s voice actor only adding to the excitement around his debut, it is hard to imagine a scenario where gamers would want to see the character replaced. After all, Venom is a fan favorite foe for the wall-crawler, and the previous two games have done a terrific job of setting him up for an appearance. However, Reddit user monkey_splash seems to value memes over a serious scene, as they have shared a hilarious video of Bully Maguire taking Venom’s place.

While many fans still love Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man due to the nostalgia provided by his movies, most would agree that Spider-Man 3 was far from a good film. Much of the movie focuses on a strange version of Peter Parker who spouts awkward dialogue, and the dance scene has become iconic for just how out of place it is. However, these issues have made this version of Spider-Man iconic, as countless memes are released that see the so-called Bully Maguire popping up in random places.

Much like how Venom is heard before appearing in the actual Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 trailer, so too is Bully Maguire. He responds to Kraven’s demands for a challenge by uttering the classic line “I’m gonna put some dirt in your eye” as he steps out of the shadows. He then performs his memorable dance before the video ends, with the edgy webslinger saying “see ya chumps” in the final seconds of the fan’s edit. The whole clip is made significantly better by Insomniac’s versions of Peter and Miles staring at Bully Maguire, utterly confused by the character and his cameo.

While there is a chance that Tobey Maguire’s take on Spider-Man is represented in the sequel through the Raimi Symbiote suit, a proper Bully Maguire skin is unlikely. Still, fans like monkey_splash would surely like to see the popular meme represented in the new game.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to release in 2023 on PS5.
