The PS5 remaster of Marvel’s Spider-Man is only a few weeks away, as the updated version of the game will be included in Deluxe Editions of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The remaster brings visual changes, new trophies, and three extra suits, the last of which are now confirmed to be coming to the PS4 version of Spider-Man.

While two of the suits remain unknown, one suit that has been shown off is The Amazing Spider-Man movie suit. The suit had been requested by players for a while, so Insomniac delivering on those hopes was nice to see. With the suit being one of the extra benefits for Spider-Man’s PS5 upgrade, one might expect the costume to be exclusive to the next-gen platform, but it turns out that is not the case.

After praising the clever marketing for Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Twitter user mr sandman asked Insomniac’s community director James Stevenson if “the 3 new suits [are] exclusive to the Spider-Man remaster or will also be available on PS4.” Stevenson replies after “a bunch of time chasing” the answer, saying he is “pleased to say they will come to PS4.” This extra bit of goodwill on the part of Insomniac is commendable, as players on the current-gen consoles will get to enjoy a bit of new content too.

However, the suits may not be arriving on the PS4 version right when the remaster releases. Stevenson mentions in his reply that the “exact timing” is “TBD” for the suits, it could be a bit before players are dressing up as Andrew Garfield’s version of the webslinger. Knowing the outfits will come eventually is good news, though, and Spider-Man players can keep busy by entering the Miles Morales LEGO figure sweepstakes if they finished the first game.

Spider-Man’s PS5 remaster will still offer plenty of visual upgrades that the PS4 version does not support, such as ray-traced reflections, ambient shadows, and a better weather. Further, the updated version of the game will include support for the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, and 3D audio support will also be a part of Spider-Man Remastered - as will the much-discussed redesign of Peter Parker’s face.

For players more excited about going on a new Spider-Man adventure in Miles Morales, stylish new suits for Miles were recently shown off as well. With both the original Spider-Man and his protege set to get some new looks on November 12, Spidey fans should get prepared to dust off their web shooters.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is available now on PlayStation 4. A PS5 remaster will be available with deluxe editions of Spider-Man: Miles Morales on November 12.
