A mod for Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered removes arguably the most unpopular gameplay sections from the title. Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered came out on PC in 2022, with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales also launching on PC last year.

With the release of the PC version, many gamers were able to install mods for Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, allowing them to alter all sorts of elements. As an example, a Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered mod lets fans play as Wolverine, while another one allows gamers to play as Spider-Gwen. Some mods can make even bigger changes to the game, as one lets users skip entire gameplay sections.

A Reddit user named Historical_Room_1617 has shared a new mod for Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered that allows fans to skip all the Mary Jane and Miles Morales sections of the game. While players will spend the majority of their time in the shoes of Peter Parker, Marvel's Spider-Man features a few sections in which they take control of MJ and Miles. These sequences primarily aim to give users a break from the action, but they include some controversial gameplay mechanics, such as forced stealth sections. The MJ and Miles sequences were criticized at launch, and it looks like this mod completely skips over all of them.

Appropriately titled “Skip All MJ And Miles Missions,” this mod was uploaded to Nexus Mods on April 18, making it a fairly recent addition. As per the description, the mod skips all the MJ and Miles sections, as it loads players into the next story mission of Marvel's Spider-Man. The modder states that they eventually plan on releasing an updated version that includes the Grand Central Station mission, as they believe it to be the only decent level involving Mary Jane.

Opinions in the comment section appear to be mixed, as it looks like the Mary Jane and Miles Morales missions of Marvel's Spider-Man are not universally hated. Some fans claim to have enjoyed these missions, but they still mention that this mod should help users that did not. Some players mention that these missions served the narrative in the first playthrough, but they are not worth revisiting in subsequent ones, while another gamer wonders why it took such a long time for this mod to come out. Overall, while these missions are not universally hated, players seem glad to know that such a mod exists for users who did not enjoy them.

Marvel's Spider-Man is available now on PC, PS4, and PS5.
