Warning: Spoilers ahead for Marvel’s Spider-Man.While there are many things that led to Marvel’s Spider-Man being a hit with fans and critics alike, one of its strongest aspects is a powerful narrative. There are multiple emotional moments throughout the game, and one of the most powerful happens midway through the story when Mr. Negative attempts to kill Norman Osborn.

Unfortunately for one Marvel’s Spider-Man player, this moment was ruined by a bug. Normally, taking control of Miles Morales to traverse the wreckage caused by the Inner Demons’ explosions is harrowing. Miles is desperately trying to reach his father, who dies during the attacks, while the player is forced to sneak by powerful enemies as a regular, powerless human being. Though the sequence is a highlight for many since it marks a key point in Miles’ story arc, Reddit user ThatGuyDan99 experienced a vastly different version of this scene.

While the clip begins normally, as Miles Morales runs through a building and leaps over some rubble, his character model begins to T-pose after he crawls under a car. For those unfamiliar with T-poses, they are the default state for most character models in video games, with developers then creating animations for the characters from this starting position. Though players have seen plenty of T-pose bugs over the years, this one stands out because it happens during such a serious sequence.

While this would likely ruin the immersion of the player if it happened on a first playthrough, it is hilarious for those that have already beaten the game. As such, comments of the post were quick to make jokes, with Reddit user NarshyI82 referencing the Stranger Things villain Vecna. With Miles floating for a bit and moving forward while he T-poses, the bug does resemble the way Vecna kills his victims in the popular Netflix series. Others joked that the unexpected T-pose was just a defense mechanism on Miles’ part.

Intriguingly, Reddit user Polytheus93 points out that this Marvel’s Spider-Man bug has seemingly been around since the game first launched. According to the player, they had the scene ruined by the exact same issue, and despite reporting the problem it has seemingly gone unfixed. As funny as it may be to watch a video of this glitch taking place, it could be frustrating in the moment, so hopefully Insomniac Games sees this footage and provides a patch for the game.

With Marvel’s Spider-Man’s PC release imminent, it would be a shame if those on the platform encountered this T-pose during their first playthrough. Regardless, it does make for a silly clip, especially with the knowledge that the scene is meant to have players on the edge of their seats.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is available now on PS4 and PS5. A PC version will be released on August 12.
