Marvel’s Spider-Man fans are always coming up with fresh ideas for in-game suits, though the latest is easily one of the most unique thus far. According to one Marvel’s Spider-Man player, the webslinger should dress up as fellow superhero Captain America for 4th of July.

Usually, Marvel’s Spider-Man suit concepts look at popular outfits from the comics that fans would like to see in-game. This ranges from iconic looks like the Symbiote suit and Superior Spider-Man suit to lesser-known outfits like Ben Reilly’s costume. These fan requests rarely focus on real-world holidays, though, making Loner216’s suggestion a special one. While the suggestion may initially seem a bit strange, there is no denying how neat the Captain America colors look.

While Spider-Man has never donned the stripes and stars in the comics, Marvel has been sharing a new set of variant covers that imagines its characters as Captain America. While it is entertaining to see characters like Moon Knight filling the shoes of Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson, Spider-Man’s design is truly special. The Redditor includes a good picture of the costume in their post, and it would certainly be fitting of a 4th of July attire. While Spidey holding the shield is certainly cool, the suit itself is the real show stealer.

Spider-Man’s eyes are outlined with red, giving his mask a similar look to the one worn by Miles Morales. The main part of the suit is a dark navy color, and the webbing makes it look like it is more armored than the hero’s usual getup. A lighter blue extends from both shoulders to the character’s midsection, while stripes go from his stomach to his chest. The iconic star rests proudly in the center of the suit, with the large white object being crucial to any Captain America design.

With smaller details like red and white stripes on the wrists, it is hard not to love this crossover look. It would also make a perfect addition to the game because of the suit powers in Marvel’s Spider-Man. The suit’s ability could briefly allow Spidey to throw the shield, adding a memorable feature to the costume. Being able to combine shield throws and webbing could prove to be a lot of fun, as it would open some fresh combo abilities for the friendly neighborhood hero. Being able to pair it with other suits would also be exciting, as gamers could essentially play as Captain America in a Marvel's Spider-Man game.

While the suit is unlikely to be added to Marvel’s Spider-Man or Spider-Man: Miles Morales, perhaps developer Insomniac Games should keep it in mind for the sequel. While there is no shortage of options for alternate suits, this unexpected choice could be used by a lot of players if it ever became an official option.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is available now on PS4 and PS5.
