Players will spend a lot of time in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 fighting against a bunch of bad guys (and sandmen). Making sure Peter Parker and Miles Morales stay at the top of their game will ensure players last as long as they can during combat encounters. To do so, Spider-Man 2 players should learn how to build up their FocusBar to heal Miles and Peter.
How to Build Up Focus
At the top left of players' screen during gameplay, they will see a long green bar --this represents Spider-Man's health. Once this drops to zero, the game will take players to the previous checkpoint. The yellow bar underneath that one is the Focus Bar. Players will start off with one chunk of Focus, but they will unlock more as they level up Miles and Peter.
To build up focus, players just need to attack enemies and defend their attacks. The meter will slowly fill up as players do well in combat. The bar can be used to do two things:
How to Heal in Spider-Man 2
To heal in Spider-Man 2, players must use the Focus Bar by pressing down on the d-pad. This will consume the meter and must be filled up again before players can restore more health.
How to Perform Finishers in Spider-Man 2
If players would rather sacrifice the extra health for an advantage in combat, they can use the Focus Bar to perform a deadly finishing move by pressing Triangle and Circle at the same time. The button prompt will appear above enemies' heads and usually take them out, even at full health. Depending on the situation, Miles and Peter's Finishers will have some variety. It's always a really cinematic and powerful attack that will be very useful when players are cornered by many enemies.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is available exclusively for the PS5.
