There are plenty of bonus suits for players to unlock across Insomniac's two Spider-Man games, but one player shares their idea for a suit to introduce in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 that could outdo the cuteness of the Backpack Cat attire. The Backpack Cat suit immediately became a player favorite in Spider-Man: Miles Morales because, ultimately, nearly everyone would want a cute cat with a Spider-Man mask to join them for their superheroics. However, this fan's idea looks to amp up the cuteness while paying homage to its source of inspiration, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is the third Spider-Man game from Insomniac, and it will give players the ability to play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales over the course of its story. The two web-slingers and the other super-powered denizens of New York Cit find themselves the target of Kraven the Hunter and his mercenary army, who have come to the city to conduct their greatest hunt yet. Complicating matters is the return of Peter's best friend Harry Osborn, who was revealed to be suffering from a life-threatening illness, and the Symbiote-powered Venom which begins to wreak havoc across New York City.
On the gameplay side, players online have been curious to see what suits players will be able to unlock and deck out Peter and Miles in. It is still not known what suits will make the final cut as of this writing, but Reddit user justxkyle shared their idea for a suit taken directly from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse that channels the Backpack Cat suit. The suit would turn the game's Peter into Peter B. Parker from the animated film and have his super-powered baby daughter Mayday keep him company.
Mayday's film debut was a hit with audiences even before its release in June 2023, as Sony made a point of featuring Peter's infant daughter in most marketing material. This reception was mirrored by other Reddit users commenting on the thread, most of whom were in agreement about Kyle's suit suggestion becoming a reality. However, some users did point out the suit would put Mayday directly in the line of fire since the baby-harness sits on the chest and not the back, though other users humorously pushed back by reminding everyone the baby has superpowers of her own.
Only time will tell if the Mayday suit idea makes the game's final cut, though if added it could prove to be a tough competition for the infamous black Symbiote suit and other costumes. If Miles could get a friendly cat to join him while swinging around Harlem, Mayday joining an alternate universe version of her father on his adventures may not be completely off the table.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to release on October 20 for PlayStation 5.
