There's a lot of side content for Spider-Man 2 players to discover while exploring New York City. One type of side mission that players can work their way through are called EMF Experiments, and these can only be completed by Peter Parker. There are nine experiments in total. Each of them presents a challenge for Spider-Man. Only a few of them have a Plants Attributes puzzle, but these can be rather difficult, so this guide will cover all the EMF Experiment puzzle solutions and their locations in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
Little Tokyo: Plant Science
- Reward: 700 XP, Three Rare Tech Parts, 140 Tech Parts
The Little Tokyo: Plant Science EMF experiment is located in Chinatown, just a little northwest of the bridge leading to Williamsburg. The reward for completing the Side Story is 140 Tech Parts and three Rare Tech Parts.
Players will need to crawl around the building and locate the plant specimens, which should be simple. However, Spider-Man must complete a Plant Attribute puzzle after that. To solve them, players will need to lay down hexagonal shapes into the slots, and the lines on each end need to match up with the others. There are also some prerequisites, like placing at least two tiles with the leaf icon and one with the sun icon.
Thankfully, we have the puzzle solution below:
- The left-bottom slot should be the leaf with two yellow sticks out the bottom.
- The one to the right of the leaf should be the H icon with two yellow ticks at the top.
- The space at the top should be the other leaf tile.
- The tile underneath the leaf should be the sun.
- The water tile should be to the right of the sun.

Central Park: Bee Drones
- Reward: 700 XP, Three Rare Tech Parts, 140 Tech Parts
Check out the Upper West Side of NYC to find this EMF Experiment spot in Central Park. There's no puzzle for this one. Players just need to control a drone to shoot targets and fly into markers to complete the mission.
Central Park: Energy
- Reward: 700 XP, Three Rare Tech Parts, 140 Tech Parts
Look around the northwest corner of Central Park to find this EMF Experiment in Harlem.
There's no puzzle to this one, but players will need to ride an electric bicycle as Peter and pedal through some checkpoints. Keep pressing the X button to gain some speed.
Queens Apiary: Bee Drones
- Reward: 700 XP, Three Rare Tech Parts, 140 Tech Parts
There's no puzzle for this one. Players will control a drone to shoot down some digital bees and then use the drone to follow a bird to its home. Make sure to shoot the bird to keep it moving.
Prospect Park: Bee Drones
- Reward: 700 XP, Three Rare Tech Parts, 140 Tech Parts
For this one, shoot the rats and bees with the drone and then traverse through the landmark points. The drone will get stolen from Spider-Man, however. Follow the marker to the park below and then head to the location on the map below to connect the drone to the signal tower.
Use the drone to shoot the glass cages filled with bees and defeat the gang with Spider-Man to finish the mission.
Brooklyn Heights: Energy
- Reward: 700 XP, Three Rare Tech Parts, 140 Tech Parts
For this EMF Experiment, players will need to use their glider (triangle) to reach a high enough point to deploy turbines.
Portside: Plant Science
- Reward: 700 XP, Three Rare Tech Parts, 140 Tech Parts
Puzzle 1
For this challenge, players will need to destroy the corrupted red atoms while avoiding the destruction of the green ones.
- Look at the two red atoms that make the shape of a sideways 'Y.' Destroy one of them to break the other.
- There's a trail of two red atoms next to a cube of four green atoms. Shatter the red atom at the end to destroy the other.
- There are two red atoms in a hexagon. Break the brown rock-looking thing between them.
- For the last two red atoms, just click on them to finish the puzzle.
Head to Portside Docks after the puzzle is done to pull a fish out of the water using L1+R1. Once the correct specimen is obtained, head back to the starting area for another puzzle.
Puzzle 2
For this puzzle, players will need to use at least two leaf, two H, and one water tile for the board. For the solution, check out the image below or read the instructions:
- The leaf tile at the top right should be the one with three yellow ticks.
- The water tile should be to the left of it.
- Underneath the water should be the H tile with two green ticks on the northeast corner.
- The other H tile with blue ticks should be to the left of the first H.
- And then under the H should be the other water tile.
- And then the other leaf tile with three ticks on its left side should connect to the water.
Two Bridges: Plant Science
- Reward: 700 XP, Three Rare Tech Parts, 140 Tech Parts
Head to the ESU greenhouse to collect the specimen. It turns out that it was taken by some goons. Defeat them to get ahold of the plant and head back to the experiment starting point. This will lead to a Plant Attributes puzzle.
Plant Attributes Puzzle
- Put the Sun tile above the H tile that's already on the board.
- Put the water tile above the sun.
- There's only one leaf tile that can fit to the right of the sun --it's the one with three lines on the left.
- Put the last two leaf tiles at the bottom spots.
- The one underneath the H should have a single yellow tick on the right side.
The Last EMF in Spiderman 2 (Emily May Foundation)
- Reward: 1000 XP, 200 Tech Parts
The last EMF in Spider-Man 2 will appear in Astoria once players complete the main story and roll credits. There will be a Plant Attributes puzzle to solve, which the solution for is down below:
Plant Attributes Puzzle
- The two leaf tiles should be at the top of the hexagon. They should connect via the double-green tick.
- Going around clockwise, the next tile should be the water drop with the single tick on the left.
- The other water droplet comes after.
- The tile with the H icon is next.
- And then the sun icon is last --the one with the green double tick on the left.
Reward for Completing All EMF Experiments
Players will earn the Foundational trophy for completing all EMF Experiments and get a snazzy new suit for Peter called the Life Story Suit.
