Although Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is a success, Disney is counting on Captain Marvel's return in The Marvels to generate another much-needed win. The studio hasn’t revealed much about the upcoming movie, but a steady stream of leaked information has created excitement for the film. Intentional or not, Disney will benefit from these leaks if it gets fans into the theater later this year.
The latest leak has fans talking more than ever about what The Marvels means for the future of the MCU. According to a reliable source of MCU leaks, CanWeGetToast, The Marvels will feature an end-credit scene where Kamala Khan finds a tablet containing the names of active Avengers. She uses it to track down Hawkeye's protege Kate Bishop, and they discuss Ant-Man's daughter Cassie Lang. The scene ends with Kamala saying the trio should team up.
Many long-term Marvel fans will catch this nod to an iconic team that’s been talked about since the first Avengers movie. For those unaware, Kamala Khan, Kate Bishop, and Cassie Lang working together will likely lead to a potential Young Avengers team-up. The MCU has been setting the stage for a Young Avengers adventure by introducing characters like Riri Williams in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, America Chavez in Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Skaar in She-Hulk. With so many potential Young Avengers, it seems the MCU is getting ready for a new Avengers team.
Although the end-credit scene in The Marvels is promising, fans shouldn’t get too excited about a Young Avengers team just yet. There are currently no plans to release a film featuring the Young Avengers. Instead, Phase 4 is focused on introducing the next generation of superheroes.
