It is anyone’s guess now where Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ post-launch narrative could lead in its final entry, let alone the bonus chapter that is scheduled to release once all four DLC characters have arrived. Deadpool, Venom, and Morbius are now playable characters contributing to Marvel’s Midnight Suns already enormous roster, and Storm could be one of its most unique characters yet as an X-Men member who has had far too few days in the sun compared to her mutant companions. It can even be estimated when exactly Storm may arrive in Marvel’s Midnight Suns.

Storm will hopefully share scenes with Wolverine and Magik, and the door is pretty much wide open to how Marvel’s Midnight Suns may want to interpret Ororo Munroe. Her reasoning for being around may be far more random than Venom or Morbius, though, since they are integral to the plot of the base game’s story and the post-launch story respectively, and Deadpool can do whatever he pleases. If Firaxis wishes to keep Storm’s role in Marvel’s Midnight Suns a secret up until her arrival, it should apply the same shadow-drop approach it gave to Morbius.

Morbius’ Shadow-Drop Was the Right Choice in Marvel’s Midnight Suns

The strength that Morbius’ Marvel’s Midnight Suns DLC had is obviously thanks in-part to the ‘Morbin’ time’ meme, but it was also beneficial that Firaxis suddenly shadow-dropped the character. This meant that his DLC chapter had no pre-release teaser or marketing, such as a Christopher Odd YouTube video breaking down the character’s gameplay. The boon of this strategy was that fans would have had no idea how Morbius may play, nor what he would look like, until his actual arrival when fans could get their hands on the character and see for themselves.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ tactical gameplay is comprehensive with a lot to consider mechanically for each character, but it is also fairly easy to understand what a character’s strengths and weaknesses are after seeing a bit of their gameplay. Morbius launched without fans already having that preconceived notion. That is the simplest way that Marvel’s Midnight Suns could have offered intrigue for his DLC chapter, as well as the narrative it would continue with Dracula and the vampyres.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ Storm Should Be Followed with a Bonus Chapter Post-Credits Scene

Storm being shadow-dropped would be great for the same reasons. It can already be assumed that Storm will have ability cards pertaining to weather manipulation, but how exactly those powers come into play on the battlefield will be wonderful to see in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. Pre-release trailers could reveal this information and potentially excite fans for more, but if fans have stuck around in Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ post-launch content this long, then it is likely they are already excited for her to arrive. Knowing this, Marvel’s Midnight Suns should shadow-drop Storm when it intends to launch the character and instead dedicate its trailers to hyping up the bonus chapter that follows her release.

Indeed, because a follow-up chapter is going to release that culminates Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ post-launch content, it would be a great way to convince any hesitant fans to purchase it if a trailer showed Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Storm preparing for an epic battle. Storm will be the final DLC character, but a post-credits scene at the end of her chapter could allude to the final post-launch chapter, which will hopefully inform fans further about whether a sequel is in the works.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4, Switch, and Xbox One versions coming later.
