Comic books are forced to print the dialogue within the artwork. So many players will be used to seeing these text boxes in the middle of the cinematics when playing Marvel's Midnight Suns. But what about the gamers who would like a clean screen so they can enjoy the experience?

The answer isn't one that some fans will appreciate. There was a creative vision for the subtitles in Marvel's Midnight Suns and it certainly was a bold one. Whether players will appreciate the decision here is one of personal preference and each individual will have to reckon with how they feel regarding the move.

Subtitles Can't Be Disabled Currently

The bad news for those who want to disable the subtitles is that, on release, the game does not have a means of doing so. Going through the accessibility options and other settings, there is no way to adjust these words that appear on the screen.

The rationale behind this move can only be theorized. The character's symbol is located next to the text that they speak and placed in a strategic spot on the screen. As players unlock Iron Man and other heroes, they'll be able to clearly see the conversations and know who is speaking, regardless of if they are pictured on screen or not.

Gamers who would like to see a means of disabling these subtitles implemented at a later date may be disappointed. Players have gone manually into the config files and have been unable to locate a setting or location for the subtitles. The titles appear to be as much a part of the cutscene as the characters themselves.

This is theoretical and it is still possible that the files are just hidden. A developer could then add the ability to turn them on and off. Or a modder could come along and fix the issue at a later date if they can decipher which files are which. But, for now, players must simply be happy to accrue new cards and try to ignore the screen clutter.

Marvel's Midnight Suns is available now for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
