Marvel's Midnight Suns offers players a great number of party members to send out on missions, allowing them to create their ideal team for any given mission. One character that players might not realize they can bring on their missions is Charlie, the Hunter's Loyal (Hell)Hound.

Unlike the other characters available in Marvel's Midnight Suns, Charlie cannot be directly added to the lineup at the start of a mission, instead needing to be summoned while the mission is in progress via a legendary card that the Hunter can acquire. Once summoned, Charlie only sticks around for a short time but can make full use of her excellent support and damage-dealing cards to wreak havoc and set the party up for success.

How to Get the Summon Charlie Legendary Card

In order to obtain the Summon Charlie card, players will need to improve the Hunter's light balance. This can be done by choosing light choices in dialog whenever possible, and by using light cards in combat as the Hunter. Players will receive the first Summon Charlie card at light balance 100, and the second at light balance 200. 200 is the maximum level balance can reach, so this means quite a bit of investment to get two copies and upgrade the card.

How the Summon Charlie Card Works

The Summon Charlie card is a Legendary Light card that the Hunter can use in combat. It costs 4 heroism to activate and calls Charlie as a fourth party member for a limited time. It also draws 2 of Charlie's cards, so she can immediately join in if there are any card plays remaining.

By default, the Summon Charlie card allows her to enter the battle for two turns, but after upgrading it she can instead stick around for three turns. The card has the Exhaust property, so it vanishes from the deck after being played, meaning Charlie can only show up once per encounter.

Charlie is a support/damage dealer with access to three different cards, which can be upgraded by raising her Friendship level. Raising Charlie's Friendship level is as simple as petting her every day. Her first Card, Bite, is her basic attack card and has the useful perk of drawing a card when it KO's an enemy. Bite+, unlocked by raising her Friendship, has knockback in addition to that effect to allow her to better take advantage of the environment.

Her second card, Howl, allows her to mark enemies in an area, causing them to refund a card play when KO'd. This pairs excellently with Bite/Bite+ to chain together long combos. Her final card, Maul, is a heroic card that costs 1 heroism and deals damage while inflicting vulnerability on the target, making them take additional damage from future attacks. Maul+ can be redrawn to add extra damage equal to half of Charlie's offense stat.

Marvel's Midnight Suns is available now for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, and coming soon to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
