As a deck battling game, players understand that getting the most out of their cards in Marvel's Midnight Suns is going to be core to victory. Gamers are informed early on how to upgrade cards. Yet this is only part of the process. Cards can get even better when they are modded correctly.

The first time players will encounter a modded card in Marvel's Midnight Suns will likely be through randomly winning one from a Gamma Coil. While that can be a pleasant surprise, players can't count on getting the right mod on their favorite cards. Thankfully, there is a way to get some more control over the process.

Build The Crucible

Players can't opt to put a mod on any card they want until they build the crucible area. Look for this to be unlocked after reaching a higher research level at the forge. After getting the prerequisite research upgrade, head over to the yard.

Under 'Yard Upgrades,' find the crucible available for construction. Be warned: this is a pricey venture that will set players back 300 credits. After building it, a new option will open up in the yard called 'Apply Ability Mods.' This is not a new location, it's at the same upgrade sword as the one that upgrades cards.

Modding An Ability

From here, the task becomes simple. Gather the essence and credits listed and modify the card. Players will get a choice of a couple of random modifiers and must choose one. If they don't care for the mods received, they can mod the card again.

However, this process does get more expensive every time. Players should add many cards, including ones they don't need, so that they can deconstruct them for essence. On tougher difficulties, this investment is easily worth the cost put into it; getting the most out of every card is critical to winning the game.

Marvel's Midnight Suns is available now for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
