On the front page after booting up Marvel's Midnight Suns, players are invited to join the 'Marketplace.' This marketplace is host to many full-suit cosmetics. To purchase one takes 300 Eclipse Credits (as of the time of this writing). So how do players go about earning these credits after starting out with nothing?

This is very different from Gloss, another currency in Marvel's Midnight Suns that is exclusively dedicated to cosmetic upgrades. Gloss is earned by playing the game and can earn more if gamers play on the toughest difficulty settings. But Eclipse Credits are a bit more nebulous to "earn."

Marvel's Midnight Suns Purchasing Eclipse Credits

Eclipse Credits are a premium currency that require spending money to buy. The purchase amounts are in quantities of 300, 600, 1200, and 1500. Doing the math, these increments allow players to buy between one and five new suits for their heroes.

The price amounts vary by region and currency used so that cannot be reliably disclosed here. In fact, the game itself doesn't disclose that information from this screen, players have to attempt the purchase first, prompting a window to pop up that will inform players of the amount.

Gamers, justifiably so, are wary of premium currency in a full-price game. This is not a free-to-play game and players have a right to demand that the full experience be delivered since they paid the full price. But there are some factors to consider before saving the game, quitting, and getting angry on the forums.

Because this is not a live service title, these cosmetics are for personal taste only. If players are happy with unlocking Blade and using his default suit because it looks good to them, then there is nothing missed out on here. These are visual customizations and nothing more.

It's also quite different than buying power outright. This is no pay-to-win. Players will still have to find new cards by playing the game and using Gamma Coils, not by some kind of purchasable loot box. It's understandable for players to still be upset that these aren't included with the game, but know that Eclipse Credits and these suits are fully optional, only acting to enhance the aesthetic experience.

Marvel's Midnight Suns is available now for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
