To succeed in Marvel's Midnight Suns, players will need to evolve and increase their power as the game progresses. Opponents will scale up in difficulty as players advance. Failing to edit the deck to increase its power will directly result in tougher fights. On the hardest difficulties, this is a recipe for failure.

However, many players will be surprised to open up the pause menu in a fight and find they can't edit their decks at all. There is a way to edit each superhero's deck in Marvel's Midnight Suns, but doing so requires both knowledge of the location and proper timing.

How To Edit A Deck

First, players will have to navigate to the abbey. It's not possible to edit the decks in the middle of a mission, so finish the mission with the current deck before making any changes.

  • Pause Menu > Heroes > Select Hero > Edit Deck

Gamers will need to find the edit deck button from the hero screen. If players do not have more than eight ability cards, this button will be greyed out and inaccessible. To get ahold of some more cards, consider playing missions that yield Gamma Coils as a reward for their completion.

After getting more than eight cards, the option will now be unlocked. Players can then remove cards they don't want and substitute them with these new cards. Be careful with this process; if players go for the flashiest cards, they might not have the heroism required to use the cards. A good base of inexpensive and easy-to-use cards with a couple of heavy hitters is often the perfect balance.

Comic book video games are at a fascinating crossroads currently, and this game will only add more fuel to that fire with this unique deck-based combat system. It's up to each individual player to decide if they want this to be the start of something grand or if it's a swing and a miss.

Marvel's Midnight Suns is available now for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
