One of the earliest decisions to make in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy happens during the start of Chapter 2 when the team gets contacted by the Nova Corps. Players must choose whether it's best to hide the space llama or Rocket's tech from them.

It's not clear how big this choice will turn out to be. As some decisions mean more than others in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, this guide will go over all of the consequences of deciding to hide the llama or tech.

Should You Hide Llama or Tech in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy?

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy chapter 2 decision

The most immediate difference in choosing to hide the llama or tech is the fine Kor-El will give the team at the end of the chapter. If players decide to hide the llama, the fine is 7000 Units. If the tech is hidden, the team is fined 8000 Units. This isn't actually that much of a big deal, and players can decide to ignore the fine completely later in the game if they want to.

If players want to pay the fine later, they should choose to hide the llama if they wish to more Units to spend while exploring Knowhere, before seeing Cosmo in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. The location has a lot of optional content to experience if players have the Units to do so.

The llama will join the team no matter which option is picked, but the tech proves helpful in a later chapter against one of the lesser-known villains in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Interestingly, even though the llama stays on the ship no matter what, choosing to hide it in chapter 2 alters how the team gets out of a dangerous situation in a later chapter.

If players want a quick way out of this future predicament, they should choose to hide the llama. However, if they want to have some fun with an interesting mini-game, they should choose to hide the tech. This doesn't make a huge difference to how the chapter plays out, unlike the future Groot/Rocket decision regarding Lady Hellbender in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.

There are no other significant consequences tied to this decision, except for some altered dialogue exchanges between characters while exploring and during combat in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. This is still a nice bonus, and the differences are noticeable on repeat playthroughs, even if they don't affect the main story significantly.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
