During Chapter 8 of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter gets transported into an ideal fantasy world with his mom and fellow Guardians. The prompt to accept The Promise or rethink choice can appear at a few different moments during the fantasy, but the end result plays out the same.
Unlike every other decision in the action-adventure title, there is a wrong choice that can be made, so this guide will go over the consequences of choosing to accept The Promise or rethink choice in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.
Should You Accept The Promise or Rethink Choice in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy?
This choice in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy can appear either at the start of the fantasy when Peter's mom is hugging him or at the end when a black substance covers the screen completely. If players choose to accept The Promise, they will be booted to the title screen.
Pressing continue or loading the last checkpoint will start players at the beginning of the dream when Peter is fixing a car. This fantasy will continue every time players are given the choice when the black substance fills the screen again.
If players choose to rethink their choice, they will be sent back to the moment Peter's mom starts to hug him and will be forced to shoot her to exit the fantasy. It's still possible to get sucked back into the dream if Star-Lord in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is allowed to hug his mom for too long.
The correct option is to rethink choice unless players want to keep looping Peter's fantasy repeatedly. Although, some might want to experience the dream again if they missed something the first time around. There is dialogue from Groot in the garden, Drax in the kitchen, and in the living room from Rocket and Gamora in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy to be heard in the fantasy.
Once The Promise is broken out of, players will be sucked into Nikki's, and will then have to fight their way out of the clutches of The Universal Church of Truth. How easy this section will be is determined by how much time players bought Rocket during their journey up to Nikki.
If Rocket successfully hacked the drone, it will show the team the correct way out in the next section. This means players can head for the exit straight away and end the chapter sooner. Before the chapter is over, there will also be a quick decision about Gamora players must make that determines the strength of a future battle.
