The rise of Marvel on the movie and television screens is starting to translate to video game platforms, with multiple high-profile projects already out or on the way. Given the company's over 80-year history, studios have plenty of characters to pick from, whether it is highlighting a single character or bringing some characters together in a special team-up. It looks like a new game on the way will be focusing on the latter as Marvel is teasing a new project on social media featuring a potentially massive roster of characters like Venom, Ironheart, and America Chavez.

Marvel's latest game is set to come from publisher Nuverse and developer Second Dinner, serving as the first title from the relatively young studio. Nuverse is a publisher based out of Hong Kong and is a subsidiary of Chinese multinational tech giant ByteDance, serving as the company's gaming-focused division. Second Dinner, by comparison, is a relatively small studio based out of Southern California comprised of developers whose previous experience includes Hearthstone, World of Warcraft, and Halo. The company announced it was partnering with Marvel for its first game when the studio was founded in 2018.

After being fairly radio-silent about the game since then, Marvel dropped the first teaser on Twitter for the full reveal of Second Dinner's new game. The short teaser showcases an animated art style, akin to the Marvel game from Capcom, showcasing Ironheart, America Chavez, and Venom fighting what appear to be Doombots. It goes on to tease a potentially massive game roster, with the title cards for various other characters, ahead of the full game reveal scheduled for 1 PM EST/10 AM PST on May 19.

Given the art style and all the teased characters, most Twitter users commenting on the post believe the game will be a new mobile game to stand alongside titles like Marvel Strike Force and Marvel Puzzle Quest. It would not be surprising if this was the case given the history of many members of Second Dinner who, as mentioned above, previously worked on Blizzard's popular mobile game Hearthstone.

Players could also argue the game is looking to ride the popularity of recent Marvel Cinematic Universe releases across film and TV, and some that are still on the way. America Chavez, for example, is experiencing a surge in popularity thanks to her MCU debut in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where she showcases her universe-hopping powers. Ironheart, on the other hand, is further out as the upcoming Disney+ series introducing fans to genius Riri Williams is still in pre-production and set to film during the summer of 2022.

Marvel's untitled game from Second Dinner and Nuverse is currently in development.
