After three years, Marvel Studios is returning to San Diego Comic-Con for another day of entertainment, news, and fan gatherings. The news was confirmed by Kevin Feige himself, along with the promise of information regarding the MCU's future.

The return of Comic-Con brought the announcement that Marvel Studios will be hosting a Hall H panel, confirmed by Feige. With Thor: Love and Thunder just around the corner, it seems as though Marvel Studios may be bringing some big announcements for this next chapter of the MCU.

The return of Marvel Studios to this year's Comic-Con puts a significant stamp on the event. Their presence will help give the convention a boost as it seeks to return to normalcy following the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, since a Marvel Studios presence is never fully guaranteed, the panel and its upcoming announcements cause a surge of fans to want to attend and discuss the convention on social media. "We’ll be at Comic-Con next month, which we’re excited about," Feige said during the press conference. "First time since we were on stage there three years ago talking about this movie and many others. And now, I think, almost, not everything but almost everything we discussed three years ago, that was released, so we are excited to go and talk about the future."

While Feige did not reveal many details about what fans can expect from the panel, it is expected that more details about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be released. With many other films and Disney Plus shows slated to be released later this year and in early 2023, it is possible that Marvel Studios will reveal some extra details about other upcoming, already-known projects as well. During Marvel Studios' last appearance at Comic-Con, Feige announced that Mahershala Ali was set to star in the upcoming Blade movie. Feige also made announcements for WandaVision, Eternals, and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, all of which were hits with Marvel fans. While the Blade film is expected to be released in 2023, it is likely that fans can expect a follow-up announcement at this year's convention.

Comic-Con grew from a small gathering of a variety of fanbases when it began in 1970. Now the flagship convention is known for attracting fans and A-list stars to San Diego annually. In fact, the 2019 edition drew an estimated 135,000 attendees. With a three-year absence and a seemingly large comeback, it is expected that that number will grow in 2022.

San Diego Comic-Con will take place from Thursday, July 21 through Sunday, July 24, 2022. Schedules and details about the Marvel Studios' panel will be released in the near future.
