Highlights

  • Learning to adapt your deck to the different locations in Marvel Snap is crucial for success, as some locations can either help or hinder your strategy.
  • Time Theater, a new location in Marvel Snap, allows players to draw a copy of the last card they drew, which can be both useful and wasteful depending on the card.
  • Certain cards, such as Kitty Pryde, Wong, Cerebro, Patriot, and Rogue, can greatly benefit from Time Theater, doubling their power or abilities and giving players a significant advantage.

One of the most important aspects of Marvel Snap is learning to play around the three locations that reveal each match regardless of which cards are in the player's deck. While some locations can be advantageous, others can throw a wrench in Marvel Snap players' strategy, so learning to adapt a deck to fit whatever locations are thrown at them is in the player's best interest. However, there are a few locations like the new Time Theater location that can be beneficial or detrimental depending on how a player is able to take advantage of it.

Time Theater was recently added as a location during the Loki for All Time season of Marvel Snap, and its effect allows players to draw a copy of the last card they drew rather than drawing a new card. This effect can be a double-edged sword depending on how players have built their deck as getting doubles of certain cards can be incredibly useful, while getting doubles of others can be a waste of a draw. As such, there are five cards that can benefit greatly from Time Theater as getting duplicates of them can give players a huge advantage.

Kitty Pryde

Kitty Pryde is a staple of bounce decks in Marvel Snap due to her ability to return to the player's hand at the start of each turn and gain +1 Power each time. Getting a second Kitty Pryde from Time Theater doubles the number of low-cost cards that return to the player's hand each turn. This can be a great strategy for powering up The Collector or snowballing Kitty Pryde's power quickly with Elsa Bloodstone since having two 1-Cost cards to play each turn can make filling a location multiple times very easy.

Wong

Wong can be a powerful tool in an On Reveal deck, and having two Wongs can mean double trouble for opponents. Since Wong's Ongoing ability allows On Reveal cards played at his location to activate twice, having two Wongs can quadruple the number of times an On Reveal ability activates. Add Mystique into this mix like most Wong decks do, and a card like Iron Heart can boost a player's side of the field by incredible levels, or a card like Hazmat can rapidly decrease the power levels of opposing cards.

Cerebro

Ongoing cards that increase the power of cards on the player's side of the field tend to benefit especially well from Time Theater since having doubles of the card essentially doubles the bonus they offer. Marvel Snap's Cerebro is a great candidate for this strategy as having two Cerebros in a deck centered around the card means the majority of the player's cards will gain double the bonus they usually would. Having two Cerebros takes its ability from granting the player's highest Power cards +2 Power to +4 Power, which can be a huge game-changer.

Patriot

Similarly to Cerebro, having double the Patriots on the field can make a huge difference in Patriot decks in Marvel Snap. While typically a card like Iron Lad is used to try and get double the effects of Patriot, Time Theater would allow players to bypass the need for Iron Lad altogether. Having two Patriots on the field then playing Ultron on turn six and allowing those Patriots to power up all cards without abilities by +2 can be a huge power swing.

Rogue

With the way Marvel Snap's meta is filled with Ongoing cards right now, getting two Rogues from Time Theater is invaluable. Rogue's On Reveal ability allows her to steal the Ongoing ability from an opponent's card, so having two Rogues gives players double the chances to shut down an opponent's Ongoing strategy. Opponents are often prepared for one Rogue to disrupt their plans, but having a second one steal a key ability from a card like Wong or Cerebro can ruin an opponent's day.
