The Days of Future Past season of Marvel Snap has just introduced Master Mold as part of its slate of new seasonal cards. As a season dedicated to the X-Men and their mutant-hunting foes, Master Mold makes for an appropriate addition alongside the seasonal variant for Sentinel and Season Pass card Nimrod. However, the inclusion of Master Mold might also be good news for another villain in Marvel Snap, as his ability has great synergy potential with Ronan the Accuser and could help these cards rise to the top of the meta.

Thanks to a series of recent balance changes, the combination of Master Mold and Ronan the Accuser is primed to take the Marvel Snap meta by storm. Previous seasons of Marvel Snap have tended to revolve around a couple powerful cards that end up dominating the meta, such Zabu and Silver Surfer or, most recently, Kang the Conquerer and Thanos. However, as developer Second Dinner continues to tweak cards to optimize player experience, it's likely that these cards will receive a nerf in the near future, paving the way for Master Mold and Ronan the Accuser to climb to the top of the usage charts.

Master Mold and Ronan the Accuser Could Be a Terrifying Combo

At first glance, Master Mold seems like a pretty niche card with only situational usage potential. He is a 2-Cost/2-Power card with the On Reveal ability that adds 2 Sentinels to an opponent's hand, and while it may seem odd to give an opponent cards for free, this ability can be used to throw a real wrench in their strategy. Clogging up an opponent's hand with junk cards can make it difficult for them to draw their deck's most powerful cards since Marvel Snap has a hand limit of 7. When combined with other cards like Korg and Black Widow, this strategy can be highly effective in a variety of situations.

Master Mold, Korg, and Black Widow are all fairly low-cost cards that fill the opponent's deck and hand with junk, making it hard for them to draw their best cards. This puts Ronan the Accuser in the perfect position to become a real threat due to his Ongoing ability that grants him +2 Power for each card in an opponent's hand. Add Sandman into this combo to prevent opponents from playing more than one card a turn, and their options quickly become limited while Ronan becomes all the more imposing.

Another great strategy would be to use Wong's ability to activate On Reveal abilities twice, doubling the amount of junk cards that can be added to an opponent's hand. There are a lot of versatile options a deck like this has available to it, meaning it could see a rise in usage now that its cornerstone card Master Mold is available to Marvel Snap players. There are some counters to this strategy, however, that player will need to watch out for. Opposing Discard Decks that combine MODOK with Morbius to give him a massive power boost by discarding a large number of cards from their hand will actually benefit from Master Mold's ability.

It's likely several Marvel Snap cards will be hit with balance changes sometime during this season, and depending on what those changes look like, Master Mold could become a must-use card alongside Ronan the Accuser. The buff to Sandman last season made him a contender for a staple in a whole host of deck types, and could prove useful again this season in helping Master Mold and Ronan take over the meta. Marvel Snap players will have to stay on their toes as new strategies are sure to evolve around this combination of powerful cards.
