Marvel SNAP is a concept that just makes sense as a concept. The sprawling multiversal cast of the extended Marvel universe is a perfect fit for a collectible card game, giving its designers plenty of recognizable characters and concepts to work with.

One of the main appeals of collectible card games is the freedom of customization they offer. Players can build decks based on both their personal play style and on their favorite heroes.

Marvel SNAP offers this experience in spades. Not only can players customize the content of their decks, but they can adjust how they look too, with various card backs.

Marvel Snap Card Backs

Card backs are exactly what they sound like: the image printed on the back of the card. It's a purely cosmetic aspect, and there's no in-game advantage for using one over the other. They can mostly be unlocked through Marvel SNAP's rank rewards, caches', and season passes.

The default card back is the default Marvel logo on a dark background, but players can set a different card back for each one of their decks, giving each one a unique visual identity.

In order to do so, players need to access the collection tab at the bottom of the screen. Above the scrolling showcase of the player's Marvel SNAP card collection is a list of decks. Clicking one will show the cards it holds.

Once a deck is selected, the player should click the options icon on the top right, which looks like a set of three horizontal bars stacked on top of each other. Alongside "Share" and "Paste," players should see an option to change their card backs in the center of the screen. From there, they just click on it and choose which color or design they like best.

It will vary from player to player if grinding for new card backs and going through this customization will be worth it. It's a nice personal touch, but Marvel SNAP's rules mean that most cards will be face up, and the times the other player can see them are slim. Still, if they're serious about growing their collection, players are bound to find something interesting, and there's no harm in equipping it.

Marvel SNAP is available now for PC and Mobile Devices.
